What slings are you guys using for AR15s?

I'm not a cool running operator type, just wanted a sling to....sling my AR on my shoulder when I owned one.

I found a simple inexpensive black M-14 web sling worked fine.

I have single point sling loops on my HD AR’s that works with a single point sling or chest harnesses sewn into my duty vests

They’re handy but will thump around if you need to move as the guys have said.

I prefer the 2-point web slings from Midway or other makers that have metal (not plastic) buckles that were were mentioned above. Simple, inexpensive and useful.

Stay safe.

My first AR old school green M-14 web sling also have a black one for my 10/22

I use a single point on my AR pistol.
A homemade, no rattle, nylon/leather sling on my farm rifle.

I can carry it in different position with gouging by the mag or pistol grip. Muzzle down, strap over my head, on my left shoulder slung across my body is my favorite. I can swing the gun up to my right shoulder in one motion.
It still needs a little tweaking on the rear leather strap, but its pretty good now as is.
Comfortable. Cuiet. Cuick....the three C's

I have several Magpul MS4's. I've only used them in the 2 point configuration and they work great but I tried a Ferro Concepts slingster last year and it is my new favorite. I picked up 2 for favorite rifles.

Orrrrr slave labor vs a working wage. Obviously your corner is different than mine.
Well if that's where things are coming from I can be a little more on board. Is all Magpul stuff made in America? This stuff isn't coming from some Chinese sweat shop?

S2Delta's are stated to be USA made. This is what I have on my 2 best/favorites. It's nothing fancy or ground braking, just a similar platform quick-adjust and versatile 2-point. Relatively inexpensive at the time.

You can have cheap and good if you’re willing to do the work yourself. The nylon and buckles etc are all online super cheap as individual parts. Especially if you buy a quantity other than 1

I've thought of doing that, though I'd go for paracord personally. I think the thickness would feel more comfortable

rifle.jpg Nobody who's ever had to hump a rifle for more'n an hour or so is a fan of the single-point sling. (Especially if you've had to actually run with your rifle slung)

Nobody who's ever had to actually bring their rifle into action and fire a bunch o' shots is a fan of a 3-point tactical sling.

A modest 2-point sling is typically all one requires. But, you buy cheap, you get cheap.

I do like the MagPul MS3 and MS4 slings, and I don't think $35 to $40 bucks is too much for a sling, sorry.

The Vickers Blue Force gear stuff is really nice as well.

If you're only slinging one rifle/pistol, $35-40 for a sling might not seem bad, but it gets pretty expensive pretty quick when slinging multiple guns and you like commonality.

I think I got this very basic blackhawk 2 point sling for about $10 from Academy years ago. The only thing I added was one QD point at the rear because I already happened to have one in my stuff and the magpie stock that I have just happened to have a socket for one. It’s nice for separating the upper from the lower without having them tethered by a sling.

What @Wolfshead said. Flatline Fiber makes simple adjustable lightweight two point slings in 1 inch width, great for lightweight rifles, that are very well made. The owner/operator is Chad Smith and is a stand up guy, responsible and responsive. I also use a wider, adjustable Savvy Sniper on a heavier rifle with an LPVO. The only other sling I own is a two point made of military polypropylene web material and metal tri-glides. It does not adjust quickly but is pretty stout.

i think this thread would have benefited greatly from a discussion of requirements before discussing solutions. what do you want your sling to do?

despite being simple 100+ year old technology, slings are remarkably esoteric. even at camp perry, i'd be surprised if half the competitors had properly configured their slings. and tactical slings seem like a mystery to most people, who mostly give up and just use them like carry straps and even then can't figure out which arm goes through the sling.

maybe we need a sling education thread. i wonder if there are any good youtube videos someone could share.

Two point Magpul MS-1 (I think that's the model) on my BCM and also on my AK. As someone else said, works well for shooting and also if you need to sling the rifle from your front shooting position to your back to move.
