What tags did you draw this year?

my state just switched to a new system and the kid at the local sporting goods store didn't know how to work it. I ended up paying for a special draw without actually getting put in for it.
I ended up with the usual Whitetail antlered/antlerless and special draw extra antlerless(mule deer or whitetail). elk hunt I have to just get a general palouse tag and hope I run across an elk while out deer hunting.

just got my ny tags one buck rifle .two dmp doe tags any season. one bear any season. mz any deer i will go back in November any i can get two more dmp tags deer management program. they are $10 for 2 and is a lottery but i live in the highest deer pop county in ny and get them every year.

What does dmp stand for?

While I've long understood the fact of drawing tags in western states, a Georgia resident license holder gets tags... actually called a "deer/turkey harvest record"... for free as part of the deal. Also hoping to fill at least one, or some, tags is part of the deal. As others have mentioned here...

2 antlered bucks, one of which must have 4pts on one side. The other one, as long as there's antlers, anything goes.
10 antlerless.
Plus, IIRC, 3 turkeys... gotta be gobblers- can't legally shoot hens/jakes in Georgia... next Spring.

Also mentioned here was the ability to tag your deer by cell phone. What they did... While we still have to fill out the proper space on the harvest record, we also have to go online or by cell phone and log the kill. If you have trouble with that, they allow for phoning it in. They assign a confirmation number which you record on your harvest record.

My BIL and I drew three TPWD antlerless/spike hunts. We accepted two because two of them were too close together time wise. One of the hunts is at a place overrun with axis deer and you can shoot as many of those as you want. The other hunt also gives a chance at axis and aoudad sheep.

Still some hunts to be drawn so maybe we will score more tags.

I just hunted the area my granddaughter drew. We saw one large doe being chased by a very large coyote. They were hauling butt and passed about 50 yards from our bow stand. That was the only excitement on a 2-day hunt.

However, I just scored a second-chance tag yesterday for Thanksgiving weekend.

Well, I drew a second choice mule deer doe tag for private land. It was more like a trip to the grocery store than a hunt, but the meat is delicious and a blessing.

Tried to draw a second choice first season cow elk with no luck. Hunted over the counter archery elk and arrowed a really nice piece of oak bush....
