Found this while cruising on AuctionArms.com, and for the life of me I can't figure out what this is. Its a nickel S&W Model 19 with some funky sight systems. It's described as a 'illuminated electronic gun sights'.

Link to auction.

From auction description: 'Brand new in box..never sold or fired by me....Spl sites were installed over 20 yrs ago...after 10yr batt would no longer take chg....Real neat idea..I do not know if the sighted system still works. If you are electonics genius maybe you can fix...no tech info available...It recharged from hookup to hammer & plug ingrip & 9 volt batt...Button on grip turned on sites..glowed bright red...Anyway auction is for gun.....'

I can make out the name of the manufacture 'Triple K', and that sounds sorta familiar.

Any one remember how this thing worked?

To quote that great modern thespian Keannu Reeves:

"Whoa!"

:)

Hmmmmmm. Obviously, the batteries have turned to crap, but that's always fixable. Question is, are the "bulbs" OK?

If I was interested in the gun, yes, I'd try and bring it back from the dead :). NEAT concept. Kind of a "neolithic Tritium" setup :D.

Uh...Hmmmm....duh....what on earth ?

Looks like a right professional installation.

Not a trace of it in my ref books.

Hope somebody drops in with some info.

Betcha it goes over $350.00

Just ran it through dogpile n google and only came up with Triple K leather and magazines.

Sent letter to Kurt at Triple K with auction and request for info.

It recharged from hookup to hammer & plug ingrip & 9 volt batt.

the batt and wires hanging out are to charge it. it would seem the rest of the system is hidden somewhere in the grips.. neat idea, wouldnt mind seeing one in person

Magazines. I knew I'd heard of Triple K before.

The suspence is killing me; if there wasn't a manufactures flyer in the auction, I'd almost thinnk it was a joke.

Help Doctor Science! I have to know.

I got enough information to make me curioser.

Was made by Triple K at the request of the inventor "many, many years ago."

Seems that nobody currently at Triple K remembers much about it.

I too, want to know more. :)

This just in from Kurt at Triple K.

"You never know when you are going to hear from people! The original inventor who did all the work just came out of the woodwork! He is John Elliott and his email address is [email protected] .
Hope this helps!
KK "

I vaguely remember that and it predated tritium sights. It was hoped that it would have certain appeal to the law enforcement market as most police involved shootings are under dim light conditions.
