According to a Fox News report aired a minute ago a Massachusetts judge judge just refused to hear a case attempting to reverse a state assault weapon ban. The judge reportedly stated that the subject arms fall outside the scope of 2A protections.

Does anyone here have any idea what dictionary judges and politicians use to find the definition of the word "infringe?" My English dictionary defines it to mean "to intrude upon or into," or "to diminish."

When we lose the language, we will lose our rights. It's happening right now. It may have started in 1934, but it continues.

Justice doesn’t reside in our legal system. Dictionary’ neither.

I'm hardly under an illusion justice resides either place these days. But when our justices and politicians don't abide by the plain meaning of the words the common man has access to in our dictionaries, how can we even protect our rights? Legal precedents supplant plain meanings of the words in the justice system and thus the courts can act as though so long as government allows us to maintain possession of our Kentucky Long Rifles, the Second Amendment is intact.
It could cause severe damage to our society ...... in a number of ways.
This I find frightening ..........

And so THAT is why we have the Second Amendment! It is to protect us FROM our government. In light of that, why would we think our government would not try to infringe upon it?

Of course you're right. I guess perhaps I'm frustrated since I am losing the ability to imagine how we can correct our nation's course on this matter without .... going to a place no sane person should desire.
If giving free Oxford English Dictionaries to numerous judges and politicians would do it, I'd donate $100,000 to the fund for said tomes.

Well, we have communication and voting as our legal means to redress any issues. That is why I'm extremely vocal on social media and I always vote! But we need to always remain vigilant and be prepared to use whatever means are at our disposal to ensure our freedoms.
