Hi Guys,
Im pretty sure i can find the right holster now,but i have no clue on the position i can put this pile of steel while standing and sitting both that is comfy.
Im gonna guess at 3oclock or mabey 9oc? If thats the case are you using a full sized holster? As i would guess that would dig horribly into your hip bone.

I wear somewhat tight jeans and jeans only, mabey even jeans shorts. And when i cinch my belt i want nothing moving, again that makes me think pain in my hip bone join.

Usually ill carry my small PT745 at 10-11oc with a small Galco i made a new clip for and a Kholster i have when i need a tucked shirt.
What im thinking is if i put it anywhere in front its gonna bind and poke when sitting.Middle of the back would be worse while sitting also. And unreachable also.

Suggestions?

I just tried my cheapy Uncle Mikes #5 IWB at 3:30 and i dare say its more comfy than my small PT745 at 10oc.Ill wear it around the house for a while and see how it rides and ill get real holster soon.Nothing wrong with the UM's,but a good leather IWB that will keep it from moving and shifting around cant be beat. But im not telling you guys anything new.

If anyone else has input on another position to try pls do.

i carry a 5" 1911 100% of the time. I use a milt sparks vmii, at 3:30.

Life is good,

bingo!

I carry my all steel Government model about 30 to 45 minutes sooner. I have 3 government model II's for my 9 steel government models, 1 for my two railed Kimber Warriors, and 1 on order for my Highpowers.

Two of those VMII's are horsehide, 1 is for rail guns, and the one on order for my Highpowers is horsehide too.

I am an old Florida boy now Living in Arizona, and if there is one thing I do know about it is sweat. That is the main advantage of horsehide over cowhide, in most cases, it is all but impervious to sweat. AS is kydex which is kind of rough on this ole' fat boy when used inside the belt (IWB). I like cowhide, I just find that for me and my situation, horse hide works better IWB.

Good luck.

Inside the pants holster at about 3:00 is very comfortable, but being on the
thin side the handle still sticks out a little. So started to wear at 2:00 an even
with a t-shirt on, the handle seems to stay closer an more hid. So with a t-shirt its
2:00, an with loose shirt its sometimes back a 3:00....I have also just put it in my
front right pocket of my jeans, can't believe the 1911 fits well there too!

Well i asked for "full sized" 5" barrelled 1911 spots.
Im gonna work with a few of my cheap holsters and see what does well and get a good one and see how it flys.

I carry a 5" at 4-4:30 with a fairly heavy cant. The brand of the holster escapes me right now, something like a JBC or JBW, but the model number is 36. It's a simple leather pouch with a clip on it. It can be carried IWB, OWB, and on either side. I always IWB it since it doesn't have a retention strap, but that helps on the minimal bulk and all.

Carried like that, the barrel travels down my leg and terminates right above my wallet allowing the muzzle to still be hidden if I bend or shift. The grip rests right over my kidney and points up and back across my side and back. I typically wear 501's or 517's and don't like baggy clothing at all- I have no issues with it disappearing.

The only thing I can't do with this setup is drive for more than about an hour to an hour and a half. Otherwise, it conceals great under t-shirts, polo's, anything. I also like it since it's the same holster for an SP101 which is my other carry piece. Works just as well.

Only time I had an issue was when i grabbed a shirt the was light enough that you could see the gun through the fabric . caught it before i went out, though.

I carry either a Kimber Compact CDP II (4"bbl, officer size frame) or a full size Tactical Custom II. I use both a VMII or a Galco Royal guard carried at 3:30 to 4:00. Very easy to conceal and very comfortable.

I only use a Milt Sparks 60TK high ride belt holster. As you've read in previous posts, lots of people love IWB and I'm jealous to a small degree because IWB has never worked out for me. It's just a personal fit/feel/comfort thing for me, but I never tried an IWB holster I didn't hate.
