What to do in SF in July?

Drop me an email or private message when you get in town. I live in San Mateo, which is about 30 minutes south of SF proper by car, train, or BART (light rail).

If you want to shoot, I know a few good places around here. At least one, Jackson Arms, has been mentioned already, but there's a multitude of other ranges too.

I also know some good food places, but I'm not a vegetarian, so I'm afraid I couldn't help you find a suitable place. I'd be more than willing to accompany you, however.

Cheers!

GoldenGate Park at mid-day / high noon, Haight-Ashbury on the same pass at the same time.
The north shore / wharf / tourist district, from the Golden Gate Bridge, eastward.
Avoid City Hall unless you want to be surrounded by bums (elected or otherwise) the whole time.
The Mint, but I'm not sure they have tours anymore.
Presidio complex, but I think it was bought up by a software company to use as their offices.
Geary st theatre district, from the safety of a tourist bus
A evening over the bridge in Sausilito with the missus.

And that's about it. The entire Bay area is a cesspit, and San Franciso proper is a terrible place after dark.

And the last time we stayed in a 'four-star hotel' to attend Phantom of the Opera, we woke twice to gunshots in the street below us.

Not interested in going there again, for any reason.

Vegetarian, eh? Here ya go...one of the best veggie restaurants anywhere!

Take a walk around the Yacht Harbor or to Crissey Field afterwards- they're west of the restaurant. Or go east a few blocks and tour Fisherman's Wharf.
At dusk, the Crissey Field area (used to be an army landing strip, now a salt water lagoon) is incredibly beautiful. You're right at the water's edge looking west at the Bridge and north to Mount Tamalpias and the Marin Headlands.

Weather permitting of course. :p

You can spit on the hippies.....

like they did to us GIs when we came back from the Vietnam war............I think hippie bashing is still PC where picking on the "other folks" in SF is not.....chris3

...and we're done.

For any Cali/SF THR members who'd like to talk with real_gun, please feel free to send him a PM or email. This one's gone off topic for GGD.
