I have been on two dates with this girl and she is already saying she wants me to help her fill up her gun safe. :uhoh: And Every time she comes over she shoots up my ammo. Shes already eyeing guns in my safe, so iv got to do something.

She a keeper or what guys? :D

lucky bast....

depends...a gun may be too much $$$ after 2 dates, but at least its not jewelry. Milsurps are cheap if you want to get her a gun. That or a .22 of some sort. Rifles aren't that hard to come by at a good price.

Ammo could be an option. What is her favorite, get her a case. Maybe a range gift certificate or sign her (or her and you) up for a class she hasn;t taken.

Hmmmm,
A keeper would be the woman who wants to buy you guns.
Think long and hard before you start passing out the money and guns.
Just my 2 cents on the matter at hand.

The general rule is 10 dates or 1 year (whichever comes first) before the first firearm purchase. I'll agree that at this point ammo or flowers would be more appropriate.:D

Add me to the "Don't by buying folks guns near the second date" column.

How do I say this....

Up to meeting my wife, my dating life from 18 years old to 30 years old was like a "B" rated movie-- no script and bad casting. I can literally say that I can't remember the FIRST name-- let alone the last name-- to the majority of the girls I've dated.

The first several dates are great. You'll all optimistic and generally not using your brains. From my experience, it usually takes more than 2 dates before a girl decides that she wants to kill me. And if I armed her prior to that point, well... its something to be concerned about.

The key to a sucessful relationship is finding someone who will put up with your crap and not bury you in the back yard behind a tree. At this point, you are not sure that she meets that criteria. After all, what happened to her LAST boyfriend?

Now it doesn't necessarily get completely comfortable even after marriage. Jenn and I have been restoring an old house since last Febuary (my god... it's been a year...) There are some projects we've undertaken where it is prudent to hide the firearms before hand.

And she gets real twichy when I put some things on her new furniture....

All joking aside (was I joking?) my basic rule on gifting firearms is that a firearm as a gift comes AFTER an engagement ring. And I don't mean one of those nebulous extended engagements. I mean the ones where she is already riding your butt about getting fitted for a tuxedo.

I just really don't like the idea that someone out there no longer attached to me has a firearm that was purchased in MY name. And as I said before, I don't like the idea of arming my ex's.

But then again, up to Jenn, I picked some "winners."

looks like your potential squeeze has bought into the idiotic commercialization of every holiday not Christmas. What the hell happened to flowers??

Dude, if she's hitting you up for guns 2 dates in, as a valentines gift, next it's going to be NFA regulated stuff for President's day.

Get her an NRA membership and flowers/candy or some ammo or pay for her range trip.

2 days is not even close to being enough to spend serious money. Keep it under $50, not including dinner.

Don't fall for it.

I went on 3 dates with a girl this week and guess what I get at the end? After 3 awesome dates?

"I'm not ready for another relationship. You are a great guy though!!"

Am I supposed to feel good about being a great guy? Great guys finish last...

:(

2 dates? No way.

I would have to wait a LONG time before I bought anyone a firearm as a gift and have to REALLY know them. I think that the number of people I would buy a firearm as a gift I can count on one hand and I would need TWO hands and a foot to count the number of years I've known them.

To answer the question, some Ammo for your next date, flowers and chocolate ammo might be nice.

Send flowers to her work place. Make sure it is delivered in front of all the other folks she works with.

Mega points. Guaranteed to put a smile on YOUR face later that night.

Trust me on this.

Heh, I have known her for about a year now as "just friends". I know her well enough to be comfortable buying her a rifle of some kind. She has a Chipmunk 22lr from child hood, but i was thinking of somthing like a pawnshop special Marlin 60, as she seems to be eye-balling mine.

Never knew that she was into guns though until our first date. i was expecting to go out for dinner and a movie but she decides she'd rather take the rifles and go for a walk. :D
