Art work...and you do not have to spend much

Start looking really, really hard for old hunting and outdoor magazines. Find one that has gorgeous art on the cover and signed by the artist. Take the cover and have it framed for hanging in his den. If he loves pheasant hunting, for example, find a neat, neat pheasant picture. If you find a magazine from say the 1950s that retro part adds to the interest. Or if you do not like my specific idea use the art idea as a springboard to some other print or art work. It will be very unique in many ways. I bet he would love it and you would not have to spend much money.

Thanks and let me add

that I am in to cover artists, poster art, advertising art, etc....so that is why I suggested finding one that is signed by the artist because we might be able to research the artist a bit. There is a web site that has information on artists. Please let us know what you do with this idea.

How about a nice duck hunting book? www.theduckseason.com

Speaking of art work, he has a great poster available too...

"The famous Claypools Reservoir photo. 18" X 22 art print that can be framed in a standard size frame. Also available in 27" x 39". The single line of type under the photo reads, "Apporoximately 300,000 ducks, mostly mallards, on a private reservoir near Weiner, Ark., circa 1956.""

I think I'll go post this in the shotgun forum. John
