My new job requires frequent travel to the NW section of Colorado, destination roughly 150 mi West of Denver.

I've never even been to this part of CO, much less hunted there -- what can I hunt, and what does it cost?

Can you recommend a forum with more specific focus on this area/game?

Thanks!
Rich

If you make the draw next year there is excellent antelope hunting in NW Colorado.

Since that deadline has passed for this year (it was April 5) there is an excellent chance that you could pick up an over the counter elk license for the area. To determine which areas you may want to look at go to the above mentioned page and find the harvest stats for last year. They list them by Game Management Unit.

You may be able to pick up an over the counter deer license, I am not sure about that as most areas get drawn to zero, but not all.

Beyond that the small game guide is good. But in my humble opinion not much of it (with the exception of the birds) is worth eating!
