Hey all,
So I just got a new lower with MOE grip. It's got the little storage space in the grip (with end cap) so I feel like it must be utilized. Rather than a survival/SHTF scenario I am just thinking of general utility, as in stuff that would be nice to always have around with the gun. At the range, in the woods, etc.
I am thinking of getting a little ziploc bag for water-proofing (but maybe the grip is already pretty water-proofed...anyone know?) then putting in one of those mini bottles of CLP, a spare battery for the red dot, and a quarter (which works to tighten the red dot mount, since pay phones don't exist anymore). What else may be useful? If anyone else has this grip and stores stuff in there, let me know! It looks like a lot of space in there but it probably fills up quick.
Some other ideas...
First aid: bandaids, antibiotic ointment, burn gel...in case you get scratched or cut or a hot piece of brass burns you!
Couple extra rounds of ammo: not sure what for. Saw it suggested on another forum. Maybe a special type of round, different than your regular mags are loaded with.
More cleaning stuff: small brush, some patches, toothpicks, q-tips. If you wanted to actually do some more thorough field-cleaning.
Snack: You know, in case you get hungry at the range. My favorite is Riesens but they may melt
Other junk: small zip-ties, mini-roll of duct-tape, spare contact lenses (you'd be surprised how often mine almost fall out at the range (probably from forgetting to blink)...they haven't yet, but they've come close.
