Just for fun, what was the last shotgun you bought? Accessories? Ammo you use? Plans for future? Uses? :D

Me: Mossberg 500 Persuader 8 shot, shell holder, home defense, hunting. There you go, plan to buy new barrel, use target loads, buckshot, slugs.
Your turn.

I've only ever owned one shotgun, a seven shot Ithaca Deerslayer Police Special that I bought in a gunshop in Harvey, Illinois in 1977.

I've never used it for anything but home defense.

I have #4 buck and slugs.

My current home makes it pretty much useless as a defensive firearm, so it stays in the safe.

My shotgun is a used 28" Remington 870 with 10 mag-tube extension and a fiber-optic-bead clip on sight (that I love) I shoot mostly cheep target loads at hand thrown clays, but I also have some 00 for the zombies one of my faveorite things about my 870 is it was only $225 with case and cleaning kit.
Somday I would love a semi-auto

...finally...

...found a Winchester 1200 in 12 ga. identical to my first one bought in 72...no accessories planned...will cut barrel shorter and reblue crown, and snap on a over-the-barrel Truglow sight...as close to the Ithica Raybar sight I had on the first one as I can make it...I am delighted!!!

Winchester Model 97, made in 1954, and had maybe 10 boxes of shells through it, before I bought it. I've shot it more than that since I bought it a couple of months ago. I paid $150.00 for it.....

Mossberg 835 that I got for 200 bucks last year, very slightly used. Came with a full turkey choke, so I bought a modified one and it spits out 00 buck very well. I enjoy skeet shooting with the smooth barrel, as well as hogs. I bought a rifled barrel for it with a 3x9 scope. It puts sub-4" groups in the paper at 80 yards with Hornady SST Sabot slugs. Haven't killed a deer with it, but hope to soon.

I love this gun and will never sell it, if possible. My friends all love it too. The rifled barrel and scope get some second looks and commands respect. I love it.

Last one I bought (for duck hunting) was an 870 express magnum 3 1/2".
I bought a BPS 3 1/2"(japan made) before that for ducks but the piece o sh!! stopped loading the 2nd,3rd shells after it got a little dirt and /or unburnt power in the machanics. Go figure ,a 300.00 pump out performs in the real world better than the great (not)BPS. my .02cents.

Mossberg 500, 20 ga. Bought it sometime this spring. Plans for it? Not many I don't suppose. I wanted a 20 ga pump. I've only shot it once, and my wife shot a few buckshot shells through it before taking it hunting one day this season. I've got six or eight boxes of 8's and 5's for it, and a few packs of buckshot.

This 1100 was NIB, made 1974. I picked it up on gunbroker a few months ago; 28" fixed modified, 2 3/4" only. Honestly never fired; not even the loading gate had brass marks. I have had a great time with it on the birds this year. I love the way these heavy, lazy action old 1100's soak up recoil.

Mossberg 500A. Loaded with buckshot and a few slugs for HD. Probably gonna put a SPec Ops stock on it for collapsible function and recoil.

On Dec. 23 my wife let me buy a Remington 870 Express Synthetic with 2 shot extension for Christmas. On the 26th, I worked on it for 3 hours trying to get it to accept all six rounds in the magazine. I finally figured it out (I hope). It was filthy dirty right out of the box. I am disappointed in it and wish now I would have bought the Mossberg 590 instead.

bill: all guns need to be cleaned outa the box, they have dust and packing grease. your supposed to break it down before you first shoot it.

Browning Citori Lightning in MODB for duck hunting. Love the stack barrels in the field, but could do without the narrow pistol grip. 3 1/2" just crushes the ducks too.

Mossberg 930 SPX was the most recent.

I also have:

Beretta A391 Xtrema2
Remington 870 Express Synthetic 7-shot
Remington 870 Wingmaster

Favorite so far? I'd have to say the SPX!

The first shotgun I purchased was also my last: A used Remington 870 Wingmaster with a 28" fixed, modified choke and full vented rib. Identical to the one of my dad's I grew up shooting in every way except for the serial number. Paid $269 about 10 years ago for it and the guy threw in all the stuff to keep it clean and well-lubed.

Browning BPS 10 Gauge 3.5" magnum. Shortened the vent barrel to 19", put on a big dot sight, got synthetic furniture for it, bought a lifetime supply of slugs and 0000 buck(all 3.5" mags). Went to range, re-thought the 3.5" mags, but will keep them for extreme situations, will get some 3" mags.
