An engraved (3-screw) Ruger Single-Six convertible that cost me $110 new at the time. It was engraved by a local talent and, though the engraving was minimal and looked good, it bothered me somehow. So I traded the gun off a few years later.
Wish I hadn't done that; but youth and stupidity go together.
Still have my first revolver. It's a Dan Wesson 15-3 blued with two six inch target barrels. Purchased it when I was 19 from my boss. $375 used, but considering the circumstances, was a great deal to me.
A Ruger Police Service Six 4" .357 mag. Ugly, rugged, faithful friend and servant which has saved lives in the hands of its owner and in the hands of others. This is one of those firearms that'll leave my possession only when I am no longer able to prevent it.
My first was a Ruger New model single six 22/22 mag convertsble still own it ... still love it. I was twunty years old and it was given to me by my late father inlaw. Rest in peace Butch.
I was 15 and making good money mowin yards in high school... dad said I could pay for my own and I researched a lot... decided on a 4-6 inch 357 mag. We reloaded and it was cheap back then- almost .22 cheap actually. I looked at all of them and between the S&W 27 and the colt... the Colt won... my second was a model 41 smith not long after... A good start I believe .... BTW I still have both...
