I'm currently building a 300aac blackout ar, I have a ar chambered in 556 with a 24 stainless bull barrel, I also have another ar chambered 556, thinking about taking my other 556 and changing it to a 204 Rugar, what are your thoughts on this?

The 204 is a great round, but there just isn't enough of it around to ensure that your AR will have something to eat 15 years down the line.

If you reload and can reshape your own cases, then I'd say go for the .204. I haven't seen one gun magazine or HighRoad member say anything bad about the .204.

I reload a lot, hobby of mine. I'm really thinking this is the way to go.

What caliber brass can you reshape for the 204, is it the 222 mag?

it can be formed from 222 rem mag, but that's a lot of work when quality factory brass is available
