Actually, I like both of them. Each caliber has its advantages and disadvantages. For self-defense a good case can be made for my Glock 17. My most favourite pistol is an early-production Les Baer Premier II .45 ACP, though. Can't imagine myself ever parting with it.
Regarding stopping power debate, any guys out willing to volunteer as test persons for my real world 9 mm Luger defensive ammo evaluation I intend to do soon? You know, the 9 mm Luger is impotent (or so I've heard from various folks) and I bet it'll hurt just a little bit...
