Greetings one and all! I'm back from my little break.

I didn't get a house (yet). :(

I did get a couple of guns.

Who's ready to go shooting with me? :D

Welcome back Darrin.

I'm a little tight on ammo money until after Christmas, but I'm sure I can scrape together enough to hit the range soon.

So, what else have you bought recently besides the derringer?

Frank

Well, now that I think about it, I can't remember if I got the SKS before or after I started my break....

So, yeah, just the SKS and the derringer. Thanks to you, I'm a huntin' me a 1911 next!

He's the Darrin that no one can spell his last name ;)

and to think you got the sks....and it will shoot bullets all by itself....yet the darringer you have to use 2 fingers to pull the trigger...

Welcome back. What's the derringer?
Thanks! Davis Industries .38 Special 2 shot (O/U). When I first got it, the SA trigger pull must have been about 40 lbs. I have it down to about 25 lbs. As soon as I borrow my friends Dremmel, I should have a 10 lb pull.

Are you the Dick York Darrin or the Dick Sargent Darrin?
Just call me Sargent York.

Hey, I remember that show. What made them switch Dicks in midstream? I didn't like the Sargent.
Dick #1 developed serious back problems that prevented him from working. Therefore, bring in Dick #2.

Anyone want to guess what my Mom was watching that chilly Tuesday night in October of 1974 when I was born? :D ...and I'm not kidding! Nevermind, going off topic there.... :uhoh:

Hey Darrin, I sent Bowlcut some info that may help you on your slamfire problem with your SKS. I'm fixin' to buy me one of them as soon as my C & R gets here.

Boy ain't that the truth... I have the same one and it literally does take two hands to pull the trigger... Hubby worked on it a bit and it's better but still needs a little more I think.

What exactly did you do to yours?

and

Have you had any trouble with one round not firing since doing the work (which I'm assuming is the same thing hubby did to mine)

Mauserlady,

All I've done so far is take the whole bloomin' thing apart and clean all the crap out of it. The trigger was coated with a dusty-gun oil-syrup from sitting for so long. Polishing all the areas of contact, the trigger pull inproved greatly.

When I get the dremmel, I was to grind just a tad off where the trigger meets the hammer.

So far, both barrel fire just as they should. I'll let you know when the surgery happens. ;)

Cool deal...

Mine definitley wasn't because of gunk build up, was clean as a whistle.. Got it from FIL who is a clean freak.

Can't remember exactly what David did to mine but taking a couple of loops off a spring comes to mind.
