i want to get a rifle and i am wondering what caliber to get. i want of rifle to get i dont have any high powerd rifles just shotguns rimfire and muzzleloaders and i want a 30-06 or 308 or 270. and for rifles i am looking at savage 110 ,mauser 98 sporter, remington 7400,remington760,or a sporter 1917 enfield 30/06 all can be found for 300 dollars used what should i get (i dont mind the old millitary sporter rifles for hunting).and what caliber should i get and by the way i am not recoil sensitive

None of the cartridges are really any better than the rest. Any of those will do nicely for deer, bear, moose and elk. The only serious difference between the three cartridges is the length of the rifle's action. The .30-06 and .270, having the same cartridge length, will be in a long action. The .308 will be a short action. A 165 grain hunting bullet out of either .30 cal will kill any game you care to hunt with no fuss. A 140 grain .270 has killed a lot of game too though. The .30's tend to be more versatile. Ballistically, they're identical.
Pick the rifle you like best(and fits you best), then try a box of as many brands as you can to find the ammo your new rifle shoots best. Savage rifles are well known for outstanding out-of-the-box accuracy.
"...not recoil sensitive..." The .270 will have a bit less felt recoil. The .30's will be about the same.

the least kicking with the flatest traj , will be the 270. the 30.06 will hav ethe widest variety of diff ammo weight, the 308, will have the most available milsurp ammo. the 30.06 is usually, for new made ammo, the cheapest.
