I'm down for a Colt 1991A1 or a Glock.

Marlin 336 Stainless in .30-30 would be fine too!

Thank you sir!

Re: Group Buy

Wild,
I'd be in for a (Marlin) lever action in .357 1894C
Springer Mil Spec.
I don't have any 22's yet? Hanguns or rifles....

If it were me, I would stick to pieces that most of us could afford. 4 digit firearms are nice, but no way most of us could swing one.

My vote goes to:

1911s - any mil surps
good c&r mausers or MNs - again, big lot = good price
any LEO lots, Barretas, Glocks, S&W revos, Ruger revos = again, big lot = good price

Just a though, If you were to get your hands on 100 or so of anything and could get them at 75% of what the going rate is. Many of us would just be tickled pink.

Ditto ......

.

M1 carbine.
Marlin Lever 357 mag with the short barrel (peep sights installed).
Beretta 92 FS in stainless.
Sig (any Sig).

It looks like we'd have to have a shotgun category, a rifle category and a handgun category.

When do wholesalers usually give price breaks? Isn't it in the 10-12 range?

group buy ??

how bout a group buy after the ban sunsets in sept. IMI is starting production in the usa and my vote goes for a REAL UZI.......:D just a thought

Here's an oddball idea...

I don't personally see where much savings could be expected from a standard issue, currently manufactured, normally distributed firearm. Local dealers are discounting heavily.

How about:
Any gun that sells for MSRP normally?
or
Special run - say WildPortraitScrimshawedIvoryAlaska grips on Colt SAA
or
Anything we couldn't get locally - The WildP7pspAlaska buy was a good example of this although one local dealer jumped on the bandwagon.

On the MSRP issue: I don't know if such an animal even exists in firearms, but is there a manufacturer or distributor that is actively strong-arming their dealers to sell at MSRP? A non-firearm example would (I believe) be Chris Reeve Knives that strongly "encourages" their internet dealers to not permit a discount off MSRP. There may be other examples involving rifle scopes or flashlights. <ahem>. I don't know of an equivelant in firearms - even STI is discounted by Dawson but maybe WildGotContactsAlaska can scare us up something unique and not too pricey.

Maybe a nice little known Croation double shotgun fabricator happily spinning off Holland and Holland quality at 870 Express prices? Please?

An obvious choice might be a sweetly modified, Marlin lever with a nice trigger by SWMBO, take-down, even.

Whatever the choice winds up as, WildisAGreatGuytoDealWithAlaska.

WA, can you give us a list of products you could work out a group buy from?

some i *might* be interested in would me maybe a ruger mkiii, ruger p345, or a beretta storm.

have to depend on when this is done. if its close to divdend time i can afford it. otherwise i'll just have to come in the shop and drool. over the guns. and nothing else.

you perv.

I'd really like to get in on one of these,

Beretta 92
Mil Spec 1911
H&K USP .40
Baby Eagle
Walther P99

Depending on the timing of the group buy (and hence my $$ situation) I'd be in for a Marlin 1894 in .357 or .44 Mag, or a CZ 550 in 6.5 Swede. If something else is picked, it'll depend on what and how much.

I'd also like to propose Wincester M94 (.357 or .44), and the Ruger 96/44 as alternatives to the Marlin lever guns. THough I would rank them top to bottom as Marlin, then Winnie, then Ruger. I'd still rather have the CZ 550 than any of the lever guns though ...

Wow, Wiladalaska basically you gave a open forum for everyone to post there wish lists. For me I would go for a group buy of CZs, especially the CZ-75 tactical, its what I have been hunting around for lately.

stv, what is the SP-01?i love CZ's and i'm always waiting for them to come out with more new stuff.

The SP-01 as i understand it is a 'hush-hush' CZ project that will be an 18+1 9mm based on the P-01. Spy shots show a lanyard loop, fiber optic front sight, ambi safety, and a few other goodies. CZ is not releasing any official info - these are educated guesses from CZforum.

CZforum has a few pictures in the P-01 section.

18+1 capacity!!!!1!

So WildmakeourwishcometrueAlaska, if we do this group buy, how exactly would it work. Do you buy the guns at whatever you can negotiate, and then sell them to us at a slightly higher price plus shipping to our FFL? I'd think you'd have get a pretty darn good deal to make it worth while as shipping (from AK especially) plus FFL transfer fees will probably add a good $40-50 at least to the cost.

I'm in

Please consider that many THR's are in occupied Territories and can not legaly own some of the more fun guns.

I like the Marlin lever action idea and have been thinking of getting one.
M1 carbines=good
M1A in .308=good
Glocks=good

So if we decide on Marlins can (say) I get a .357 and some one else a 45/70?
can I get both?Oh btw! THANKS
 :D :)
