Found (and bought) something interesting today that Id never seen myself before.

Clues-
1) Long gun.
2) Production started after WW2 and continues today in slightly modified form.
3) Produced by at least three manufacturers (including one very well known) on three different continents.
4) Can be operated entirely with one hand.

Anybody want to venture a guess? If anyone gets it right, Ill reveal right away, otherwise it'll be Friday when I bring it home.😊

Was it produced on three continents over its production history and/or specifically during the time period between WW2 and the Cold War-which Google states was between 1945 and 1947? Or if I read your explanation another way, it was only produced during the time between WW2 and the Cold War?

There was some overlap between the production runs all of which occurred between the end of WW2 and the fall of the Berlin Wall. 😊

CORRECTION: Upon further research it appears the basic design is still in production by one manufacturer. Learn something every day!

Qualities 1 and 4 lean towards a bullpup layout.
This makes me think it’s one of those weird bottle shaped Hi-Standard shotguns.

The others indicate more popularity beyond the US.
This makes me think FN-49.

Mossberg 590 Cruiser shotgun?

Can be fired with one hand, though not advisable, but need two to operate the pump action with any facility.

Still in production, don't know if or where similar were produced.

One of those appealing ideas until you pull the trigger, However, those new-ish shorty 12 gaugers might not be too bad.

I'm not clear on the manufacturers, continents specs, but it is in production.

The one-hand thing gets me. I'm assuming an autoloader, since a single shot or bolt action requires a second invisible man helping you. You mean when loaded you can shoot it one-handed, or that you grab it and it keeps functioning without ever moving the hand during operation or reloading? I can operate a revolver with one hand, but I need to put it down somewhere to reload. One hand + armpit/lap?

Possibly-

AR 180 (USA, UK, Asia)
Valmet/Galil/R4
AUG (Austria, Australia and USA)

Kinda-sorta-

AR 10 (not sure about the third continent)
AR 15 (probably more than three continents)
FAL (again, not sure how many continents they were made on)
Soviet exports (not so one-handed though, and probably excludes the SKS which was only made in Asia and Europe from what I think I know.)

Now if you consider a levergun one-handed, then the 1892 has been made on at least three continents -- but it's hardly post-WW2. More post-American Civil War.

40watts is a dim light bulb MkMk……

Not if it's an LED bulb.

If you're imagining a phased plasma rifle in the first place, why not also pretend it's efficient so you get more shots? I'm guessing that was either Cameron's or his weapon expert's idea in The Terminator
