My friend would like to buy my 3", stainless, fixed sight GP100. It's about 15 years old. I want to price it fairly, but have no idea what it's worth.
Anyone know?

I'd take it into a gunshop or two and see what they would offer, also check out www.gunbroker.com and look for similar guns to see the price range.

When a I sell or buy guns from good friends we do it for what the store offers for trade-in.

I just got back from my local gunshop, where they have a new one in stock. I think it was priced around $430.

I know that doesn't help with a 15 year old weapon, but it might give you a reference point.

Whats my GP100 worth

Well,I trade even my 2 taurus .22 semi-autos for 3 GPs and 2 are in 3 inch and the one I carry for security work is a 4 incher with xs night sights on them. The private owners of those that I traded with is a Taurus nut. He told me he didnt like GPS because he shot all 3 of them and said that they were keyholing alot. I shot all 3 with gss and no keyholing for me. The Rugers used are worth anywhere from $225.00 t0 about $400.00 depending on the finish and holsterwear showing. Pawnshops will bid them at $125 to $150 depndindig on finish. Rich Ziemies,Omaha,Ne.:what:

I sold an older Ruger to a friend of mine this way. I took it to my local gunshop and asked the owner what he would give me for it as well as what he would sell it for himself. I split the difference, gave him the transfer business and everyone was happy.

I bought that same model last fall. It was in excellent condition. I paid 286.00 OTD, but that was a very good deal IMO. 325.00 plus or minus is a fair range depending on condition. Aso, the 3" is a bit more scarce on the used market, at least in my neck of the woods. Old 112
