I now have an AR family pistol and want to attach a folding bipod for bench shooting, which is really all I do. Now using a free standing adjustable rest, I'd prefer a Harris-type folding bipod like I installed on my Ruger 77/357. My AR has this "M-lok" style fore end which makes me curious, since there's no sling stud like on my Ruger 77/357 fore end.

Please share with me what hardware I need for a very secure bipod attachment. I'll add though that I'm concerned that the polymer fore end material will crack over time when a single point attachment system is used, and looking on Amazon I see some bipods with two separate pieces for attachment to either side of the AR fore end. Are these a good choice?
Thanks as always.
Still watching for PSA to have a good sale (missed out on one sale because of my hesitation) on another AR pistol kit, which likely would need a bipod too. Keeping my fingers crossed on that one.

Thank you for the leads. I still wonder though if I'd be making a mistake mounting a bipod to a plastic (polymer) fore end, i.e. recoil over time causing cracking of the fore end? Don

Attaching an inexpensive swivel stud directly to a plastic forearm works ok. Its not as strong as attaching the bipod to a metal m-loc or quad rail but it does the job at a fraction of the cost. Wouldn't be my choice for combat use but for hunting or range use just occasionally check to make sure the bolts aren't coming loose.

Hey thank you folks. I ordered what's needed this evening on Amazon prime. Ordered a short bipod too for $14, that appears identical to the one I paid $40 for at Walmart maybe 15 years ago. Times have changed. I flat out cannot afford $70 for the Harris I would have loved to have. No clue where this one's made, but I did see several M-LOK studs for sale "made in USA"!. Don.
