What's the best CHEAP semi-auto?

I bought a beretta AL 391 urika 20 ga (2-3/4-3" interchangable) used(ex condition) in the case with all accseries. it is the lightest semi auto shotgun I ever owned. only have two flats thru it so far with out any FTF-FTE.

Stoeger m3000.
I've put 400 rounds through this gun. 300 of which were crappy walmart low base rounds. The gun has jammed exactly once, and that wasn't the fault of the gun. A .22 shell found it's way into the open action when it was laying on the table.
I can't recommend this shotgun enough for a "cheap" semi auto.

I bought a Derya X6 and I'm awaiting delivery. It's a Turkish 6 shot semi auto for under $300 - 18" barrel with a muzzle brake.
There was a video of it being emptied in about 2 sec - Slugs - No climb - I was impressed
I'll post as things progress.
I'm a CA resident and a shotgun seems a more viable assault weapon than a semi auto rifle that the state government wants to outlaw.
I have 9 days to wait before pickup. I got to check it out. If it works as well as it looks I'll be happy... We'll see

It's cheap - And I haven't seen the brand mentioned here

Did you mean Derya?

Fixed it
I made another mistake: I guess it's just a 10 day waiting period for shotguns.
I get it on Saturday!! Whee!!

I looked up Derya. I’d never heard of them. Many people still have negative opinions on Turkish semi-auto shotguns, I don’t. I currently own FABARM, Winchester, Browning, Franchi and made in Turkey Weatherby, The Weatherbys have been excellent.

I was searching GunBroker for a pump 12 ga and found the Derya semi auto for $269.
Something that impressed me was the video of the dealer rapid firing it with not much muzzle climb, if any. It has a muzzle brake that is apparently quite functional.
The search engine on GunBroker is finicky but if you search Derya X6 it will take you there.
They're also trademarked as RIA - Rock Island Arsenal and there's a 12 ga pump combo with 2 barrels that's really attractive price-wise.
The X-6 looks a little bit gimmicky but I'll give it a try... It might be the best cheap semi auto if it works without any failures.

I ended up taking possesion of my Derya / RIA Turkish shotgun.
I expected less for the price.
Downsides: The FFL dealer didn't have Derya or RIA anywhere on the list of brands so he had to do some fudging - Also extra barrels aren't available. Outside of that I can't find anything lacking quality-wise. There weren't any rough edges or burrs anywhere to be found and the metallurgy is good from what is apparent to me... I gave some of the parts the file test in areas that aren't critical and it's not soft. The internal machined parts all have a very good surface finish. No hidden burrs internally, great quality control. They didn't cut corners on these.
After about 80 shots of high base 2-3/4" hunting loads, the parts inside still look un-worn, The bolt latch still looks new, someone would have to view it under a microscope to find any wear.
I bought two

I can't say much about semi-auto shotguns as I have only owned three styles in my life. Two of those were built from the Browning patent which were the A-5 Browning and the Model 11 Remington. By far most of my shooting was done with the Remington 1100 model gun. There is good reason it is mentioned often. The Remington 1187 is basically the same gun but has a metered gas system allowing it to shoot/function with a wider range of loads. I will still take my 1100 gun over just about every thing else. I do not however expect the 1100 to shoot both low power loads as well as magnum ammunition. It wasn't designed to do that. Get a magnum receiver and two barrels. A 3" magnum and a standard 2&3/4" barrel will do it all.

There's this one, if someone wants the Field Grade
On that other model it has the tactical accessories like the muzzle brake, which is highly functional, actually.
These semi autos are gas operated and are adaptable to various pressures by selecting 1 of two pistons for magnum or light loads.
Changing pistons is about the same amount of work as putting in a magazine plug.
If you leave out the piston the shells cycle manually by pulling back the bolt.

I just can't shut up about these, cause I'm impressed with the quality for the money... I mean for a gun with plastic stocks.
I had Defender a few yrs ago and there were burrs all over it and cycling the action felt rough... These are smooth.
This one was $280 shipping incl... The American $$ must be valuable in Turkey. They're better quality control than most modern 'budget' American or Chinese goods, and the metallurgy was good also. Hard to scratch with a file, but resilient... No malleable metal parts.
Wood furniture cost xtra $$
