I am in the market for a good semi-auto. I have a couple pumps , What I will be doing mostly is dove hunting and I have started shooting some clay targets also. My buddy has a browning and It wont eject the cheap light load shells that I shoot. I normally shoot the cheap remington or winchester 7 1/2 shot from wal-mart.
I would like some ideas on a good automatic for me that will eject these shells and maybe some average prices for them. I don't want to spend an arm and a leg on one but I also know I won't get a good quality gun for cheap.

Also this might be a stupid question but how many shotgun shells are in a flat.
I want to order a bulk amount of shells on line if anyone knows a good site.

Thanks.

I've never tried birdshot, but I love my Benelli M1 S90. Old reliable and fast as anyone could want.

I have a FN SLP, which is the same as a Winchester Super X2 action. I use the light target loads from Walmart and have never had a failure to date.

The Winchester Super SX2 and Super SX3 line are some of the best semi-auto shotguns on the marker IMO. The prices aren't that bad either...

My Mossberg 930 even ejects my own 12 ga 3/4 oz handloads. No adjustments, it just does it. And those are light loads. And it is one of the most inexpensive semi-autos out there.

Ok i have been reading some about the super x3. Will they eject any and all shells? How heavy are they compared to a benelli nova pump? Whats the difference between a sx2 and sx3?

Yes im leaning toward the 930 now. I like the safety on top cause I am left handed and it is more in my budget. How heavy is the 930 compared to my benelli nova pump?

Look at the Stoeger 2000 for a gun in the same price range as the Mossberg 930. It uses the same basic action as the Benelli M-1 or M-2, for about 1/3 of the price. In fact Stoeger is owned by Benelli. I've had mine for 3 years and it has fed everything I have put in it. At 7 pounds it will be lighter and kick harder than the Nova, but you can use the same choke tubes in either gun.

Well I went to look at the 930 today and the gunshop didn't have them. Had a camo 935 with a 24 inch barrel. I bought a Stoeger M2000. 28inch barrel. Like the feel of it. will probably shoot it this weekend. Hope im not disappointed.
