What's the best way to conceal a gun?

I'm a slim guy at 6' and 160 with a 29in waist and i'm trying to figure out the best way to conceal my SIG Sauer 2022. Any suggestions or ideas from fellow gun carriers? I've been looking at the FIST holsters website but I don't want to spend a $100 on a holster that doesn't work well for me. Thanks.

I got nothing for you on how to be a skinny guy(!), but I wanted to say a word about FIST since you mentioned them. I just got an IWB/OWB holster from them, and the quality is outstanding. Even my wife, who is certainly not a gun person, agreed that it was absolutely beautiful. And it took much less than the time quoted, but maybe I got lucky. Anyway, fine company, fine products, IME.

It also depends on how you dress, what you do all day, and whether you spend much time seated, driving, etc etc. Try a cheap $10 cloth holster at various positions 11:00 thru 4:00 and see what suits your day better. Then go buy a good holster designed for the spot you chose.

Rusty I use FIST almost exclusively and I recommend them highly. I will tell you that after you explore the many positions, you're very likely to come back to a 3 o'clock, 3:30, or maybe 4. There's a reason so many people wind up carrying thus.

hodge69 above has a good idea. You could carry in a cheapy holster until you feel sure about the style you want. You'll want to think about cant of the holster in addition to position. My Fist holsters come with a slight forward cant, but that's just what I like... you may or may not.

A trick I've used (that you may find totally unnecessary) is to carry the gun chamber-empty for a week or two if I wasn't totally comfortable with the holster. I was still armed, but felt better without one in the pipe.

I'm about 6', 150 with a 30" waist and I carry a Sig 228 and I fond that my favorite holster is a crossbreed supertuck. I think it spreads the weight of the gun well, is easy to hide and is pretty comfortable. I don't have any experience with the FIST though. A good belt definitely helps too.

As a general rule, I find it easiest to conceal when the gun is either at 3 or 4:30, but nowhere in-between (I know, it's kinda weird). I also like to have a lot of cant as it brings the grip closer into my side. I've actually thought about drilling more holes to adjust my crossbreed to cant even more.

For brand, I have used three Fist Inc. holsters: two leather, one kydex. The fit, workmanship, and function was worth the price paid. I use the driving holster very often.

As to what would fit a skinny guy...for the last thirty years I wouldn't have the remotest clue.

Check out the Phantom holsters, they're VERY low profile for an OWB. I'm also very skinny (5'7", 150) and I conceal my commander length 1911 in a Galco NSA 212 nicely (iwb) though lately I've been wearing a cheap bladetech plastic holster because I've just been around the house and I don't have to worry about concealment. I carry my G26 IWB in a Desantis Dual carry and it works well also.
