What's the deal with bottle-necked cartridges?

I can draw from the belt and hit a man sized target at 7 yards in about 1.0-1.2...I have had some high 9's before...

With my P-32 or P3AT and a rear pocket draw I can do it in about 1.5..

Course my practice these days is also alot different than it was a few years ago...Now I scream obscenities at the target and then draw and fire as fast as I can keep all 7-8 shots in the black...usually while backing up...:D ...comes in handy...try it sometime:neener: ..

and to keep this post on topic....I WANT A CZ-52!!!!!!!

Erich:

Be very careful and if you have not had a doctor check you vitals including liver functions, kidney functions and blood pressure, do it now. Atkins is the prescription for hypertension. I know. I always had perfect bp 120/80 until I did Atkins for two years.

I have gotten things under control but now for me there's no booze or caffeine and I walk at least 4 miles a day/ 7 days a week in addition to cardio vascualr work when I can.

Be careful dude.

My blood pressure is 120/100 -- is that bad?

Alan, ya missed one serious bottleneck cartridge...

As offered by Cor-Bon:

The .440 Cor-Bon. AKA, a .50AE necked down to take a .44 Magnum bullet. Body armor? This would probably raise hell with a trauma plate, too. Problem is, it isn't a good concealment round, being fired from a Desert Eagle and all.

Thx, Waxed Canvas

I'm actually keeping a close eye on the blood work (good cholesterol went up a few, bad stayed the same - total is 140) and the BP (which has dropped from the 140/105 range to 120/78). So far, so good. (Bear in mind, I've pretty much only dropped white sugar and flour - I'm now eating more veggies than I ever have in my life. It's where I get most of my carbs.)

Alan, you want to get that looked at - your bottom number is solidly in the "high" range.

(Sorry for OT post)

Ammo Caveats

As to the practice of hot-rodding any already-high-pressure cartridge, it
brings to mind a quote that I thought rather well-said and to the point...

"The pressure required to accelerate a 150-grain bullet to 2800 fps in
a 24-inch barrel is more than sufficient to blow your eyeballs through the
back of your head."

Proceed with caution.

Cheers!

120/100 is good mine was 140/90-----normal high at one time after being on Atkins for some time (2 yrs). Each person is different. A person would be very wise to consult with a doctor and do a full physical before gopin on Atkins. Thank God I am okay now and I know I am glad I gave up booze. I feel better exercising more too.

Sorry for ot posts too....

Erich good for you and I agree with what you are doing. I just disagree with a full blown atkins regimen.
