Whats the next press after you master the lee Lee Breech Lock

When I purchased my LCT from Kempfs I bought everything I needed to complete my pistol loading to date. I ordered it with the pro powder measure and the large and small primer dispensers. My die set choice was 38/357.

I then added 3ea. extra turrets, risers and pro powder measure's. I also got the double disk kit and charge bar and 2ea. extra ratchet inserts.

This gives me the ability to load 357, 38, 9mm and 45acp. No fuss! Change out the dressed out turret and shell holder, then off to the races. The charge bar has been semi useless to this point as has the double disk kit. With that many pro powder measures and all there disk. All one needs to setup for double disk is longer screws and thumb nuts.

When I need to load up a new caliber. I will call kempf's and purchase every thing I need for the round and have a very fast change over.

Load development is still done on my two lee single stage press's.

Happy Loading. :)

Thats a beautiful setup psyshack!

The ups man dropped me off some goodies today so ive been loading since 6est, just took a break. Some tightgroup,W231, 124gr 9mm , 200gr cswc for 45acp , and other misc. stuff.

anyway im going to order the kit in the morning. it seems you get more with the rifle kit, even though i would rarely load rifle, it make more sense. Double check me so i dont miss anything.<Knowing i load mostly 9mm,38spc,45acp>

The charge bar will be a separate line item. It is a accessory thats not included in the basic kit or with the powder measure.

If you have the jack. Go ahead and get two extra powder measures and risers. You wont regret it. :)

Not sure if its too late, but did you order an extra 4 hole turret for each caliber? Your list makes it look like you only ordered one extra.

The adjustable charge bar is a part of the upgrade kit that upgrades a standard auto-disk powder measure to a pro auto-disk powder measure.

The adjustable charge bar does not come with the pro auto-disk powder measure as it comes from Lee (but Kermp's may include it, as they are a re-seller). I have dealt with Sue. I like and respect her.

The upgrade kit upgrades the standard auto-disk to the Pro in all aspects EXCEPT the body of the measure (will be the original, standard that you are upgrading) will not have the teflon coating.

I also suggest a second riser. It will raise your powder measure high enough to clear the primer feed's primer tray. You should be able to work without the second riser, but it is easier. The swivel adapter allows you to position the auto-disk to avoid the interference, but a second riser is simpler. I use the swivel adapter AND two risers.

Just talked to sue, she actually told me i didnt need to order the double disk kit because it was included. i thought that was very nice of her to look out for me. i ordered a total of 4 (3+1that comes with it) of the turrets) and a second riser.

She's really a nice lady to deal with.

They are great to deal with. Congrats I'm sure you will like the classic turret.

Just got it today. its beautiful! I'm having a hard time assembling the pro auto disk though. the instructions dont tell you much, and i cant find any videos on how to do it. any videos youve guys seen?

If you have the powder thru expanding die you just take the cap nut off, screw in the riser then screw the powder measure on the riser. Then adjust your case flare by rasing and lowering the powder thru expander die.

I figured out the pro auto disk...Thank god. I still have a chain, spring, and metal piece left over. idk if thats to be used with my lee 4 hole turret.

The second thing is the dies aren't lining up with the casing, so i have to move the turret by hand to line them up every time. Im trying to figure out how to adjust this. I think its called the index(The rod that makes the turret twist)

Thanks guys! here some new midway codes for you

$50 or more - Use Promotion Code 541176
$200 or more - Use Promotion Code 241176
$300 or more - Use Promotion Code 341176

A Lee turret is right up your alley. It's way faster than the breech lock,
I wouldn't call it way faster.
and no changing dies for each step.
No big deal. It takes 15 seconds to change a die. You will do this max 4 times per loading session. So that's a minute, tops.
Every 4 pulls of the handle gets you a completed round,
With a SS press, every 3 pulls of the handle gets me a completed round.
and you'll be able to turn that 150 rounds per night into 150 rounds per hour.
Personally, I can already do pretty close to that on a SS press without really trying. It's the repetition that gets you... and with a turret you still have to pull that lever just as many times. Only worse in a way, because you have to finish your stroke all the way to get the thing to turn, and you sorta have to fill that fourth hole even if you don't need it.:)

You didn't list the two main advantages. With a turret, you can use an automatic powder dispenser. And you only have to handle the brass once. Still, I think I'd skip straight to a progressive for my main caliber/s, and stick with the Breechlock for the miscellaneous stuff. I'm at the same point as the OP, and unless I find a good deal on a used press, I may give the Pro1000 a try.

jcerillo70, keep your single stage press. They are handy to have around for special tasks and since you already have one...

For me that would be the Lee Classic Turret. I love my breech lock, but I shoot a lot of handgun ammo, so the automation and higher production a turret would bring appeal to me. Just haven't taken the plunge yet.

Well its amasing!!! thank you very much for all the help guys.I just have to figure out the adjustable charge bar for my 45acp loads and i am set.LIFE IS SO MUCH EASIER!!!

Im having a hard time dialing in on powder charges. the adjustable charge bar is more specific than using the disk's.. But it will throw 5.1,7.0, 5.2,5.1, 0. really weird. I dont know what to do. Maybe because its very humid in my house today?

Here's my suggestion. Close the adjusting screw until it stops but don't force it. This should be at about the 2.0 setting as the charge bar has a stated range of 2.0 to 10.0. The number shown at the indicator should be close to the "0". Now open it two full turns until the 0 lines up with the indicator on top. That is the 4.0 position. Fill up the hopper and cycle 1 or 2 hoppers full of powder through the charge bar. That will coat all the surfaces with graphite and make things smoother.

Also, make sure that your powder through die is clean and free of oil/grease on the inside, and if you're using the extender, make sure that insert is clean and installed in the correct direction. When you first set it up to a number you want, cycle at least 10 charges through it before seating a bullet. That will allow it to settle in with the powder you've loaded in the hopper.

Not sure what type of scale you're using, but double check that too.

If you have the money and shoot A LOT dillon progressive would be sweet. If not get the Lee classic turret press. The turret is awesome compared to a single stage!
