I noticed a couple of posts involving the same issue of the carbide sizer ring coming out, what's up with that?

I've got Lee carbide dies and RCBS that have had gobbs of brass ran through them over the last 20-30 yrs., and none have ever come apart or broken and I don't ever lube either. One of my carbide's is a first production run Lee made in 9mm, and it is still as good as the day I bought it.

I wonder if it has something to do with a bad production run from the two manufacture's OP's have mentioned

Stuff happens, especially when putting out large numbers of products. The carbide rings are pressed in, and sometimes they come out. I had a Redding 10mm carbide ring come out several years ago and they fixed it.

Hope this helps.

I think mfg are trying to save any penny they can

because manufacturing a product that falls apart will save them money in the long run after they replace the product or they are sued? The same companies that have been in business longer than some of us middle-aged reloaders have been alive and that have built a reputation for producing crappy equipment that falls apart?

Thousands of reloaders on a forum posting about their everyday experiences increases the probability that you will read about something that is rare. I'm willing to bet that very few people on this forum have found foreign objects in their fresh from the factory powder. I found a beetle in mine, does that mean Hodgdon is cutting back on their bug treatments to save a penny or that after selling millions of jugs I hit the "jackpot"?

It is manufacturing, it happens.
