Whats your ccw?

The only small CCW I own right now is an NAA Guardian in .32NAA.

I carry it in a front pocket cookie holster from Ron Graham.

PX15 - It was one of your posts about your "new" holster that got me decided on the FIST..we even exchanged a few PMs about it, if you remember. I had been using a leather IWB-tuckable from High Noon Holsters but was looking for something thiner in Kydex that would stand up during the summers in Florida.

I conceal carry every day all day, mostly a Glock 26 worn belt holstered OWB...

Sometimes a Glock 19 worn belt holstered OWB..

When biking or jogging, S&W 637 belt holstered OWB..

Smith 640-1. A bit heavy some say, but its fine for me at about 5:00 with this little IWB I made from a Desantis Nemesis.

I carry a Sig P229 40 S&W in a Haugen Handgun Leather holster, a Springfield XD 45 ACP Service in a Galco concealable, or a Ruger P90, all of them are very well concealed by a polo shirt.

Idaho has just had it's hotest July on record, 100-105+ and I carried concealed, comfortably the entire time.

Belt slide type OWB holsters behind the hip work very well for a lot of men, and I love them, they are comfortable and conceal well.

The Galco concealable is nice but only moulded to the firearm on the front making holstering and drawing a little more tricky, it conceals VERY well, Midway is a good place to find them at a discount in stock.

The Haugen Handgun is a very nice holster but took about 12 weeks to be made, his prices are very reasonable.

These are some really nice pic's and info. 1blindref- i really like the p220 carry. Do you think you can do a review on it someday when you get a chance. I am really interested in one. I have had alot of p220's and love each one. The p220 carry is a definate add to the collection. Right now i am carrying a Glock 19 in an Gould s.o.b. or fobus side paddle. Sometimes my Glock 22.

My small ccw would be my Russian Makarov 9x18 with a holster I found that just happens to fit it like a glove.

My big ccw would be my S&W M&P .40 with the Bladetech holster that came with the gun as a kit.

Since we pretty much are going from biggest to smallest.

All these can be carried in a front pocket depending on the pants.

What I carry depends on what I expect to encounter and where I'm going.

For known gang infested neighborhoods or towns, like Phoenix AZ any more, I carry the Glock.

For pretty much every day moderate threat level situations, the Kahr.

For those times when I'm "NOT" wearing a gun, the Kel-tec. ;)

I've settled on pocket carry mostly out of a desire not to wear my shirt untucked any more like a common hippy.

Also out of lazyness.
I got tired of attaching a holster to my belt every time I wanted to go out!!

If you have loved your other P220s - you'll really love the Carry. The grip is the same length as the full sized P220's - 5 1/4 inches. The slide has been shortend from 7 1/4 inches on a full size P220 to 6 5/8 inches, for comparison if you have a P228/P229, their slides are 6 3/8 inches long. The P220 Carry will fit in a P228/P229 leather holster, but not perfectly.
The balance of the P220 Carry is second to none. It's just perfect.
The weight feels about the same as the older W.German stamped slide P220s (I don't have a scale so I held them in each hand). IMHO, the balance is even better than the full size P220s, which I think is also very good. The weight is just about right for quick follow up shots - hardly any muzzle flip. It's just as accurate and reliable as the full sized P220s.
You can get it in the conventional DA/SA or with the DAK trigger.
Hope this helps!

Another SP101 guy here, though my carry ammo is .357 Mag. I have an SP101 with me virtually all the time. I also use a 4" Ruger Speed Six and 4" GP100, though the larger sixguns might not fit the "small" category for some people. Holster depends on whether the SP101 is acting as "primary" or alternate. Milt Sparks makes a wonderful belt holster in the form of the PMK, and I have PMKs for the SP101 as well as the Speed Six. If the SP101 is acting as backup, I have pocket holsters by Kramer, Desantis, and Galco; different pants work best with different pocket rigs, with the Kramer being preferred. For backup carry while in police uniform, I use an Alessi ankle holster to tote an SP101. I use a "The Wilderness" Safepacker for off-body carry of a larger sixgun or autoloader, and should note that I like to have a smaller weapon concealed on my body when carrying a larger weapon off-body. My duty SIG P229 DAK is rarely carried concealed on my own time, unless it rides in the Safepacker, though I have a Kramer IWB for it, which I use occasionally. I got used to concealing sixguns up to N-frame in size back in the 80's and 90's, and it just seems that "round" guns draw quicker for me than "square" ones. I will mention my wonderful little Seecamp LWS-32, which is used on rare occasions, when the situation calls for a tiny gun. I have a Kramer pocket holster and a Sherrick belt holster for the LWS-32.

Most of the year I carry a P3AT with a belt clip. When it gets cold, and I can wear more clothes, then I go with a Ruger P345.

My small CCW is a Kahr MK9, but I never carry it except sometimes as a BUG. It usually sits on Mrs gorillas side of the bed.

S&W 340sc just about all year round. Pocket holster ala Uncle Mike's in the summer, OWB in a Bob Mernickle in the winter. Occasionally, I'll tote the Sig GSR Revolution "carry" in a Wild Bill's holster when I'm not at work. At work now, so sorry, no pics.

G34 with attached TLR-1 in OWB custom holster from Hillsman Holsters. Under an untucked polo or the like it conceals just fine. If I take off the TLR-1 then I usually go with a Don Hume OWB or Galco Cop Slide.

If I need deep cover then my P7M8 in Comptac CTAC, with tucked in shirt.

Since my everyday clothing determines what I can carry, dress pants, shirt, tie, occasional jacket, I stick with pocket carry, my R9 is my mainstay but my P3AT is the absolute minimum go-anywhere-gun. At night, weekends, etc., when I can go "casual" like jeans, kahkis, etc., usually OWB/Paddle with a 229, 1911, 915.

The smallest I ever carried was the Beretta Jetfire .25 - and will never carry a gun that small again if at all possible. I have no confidence in a .25 regardless of the type of ammo. At least with a KelTec .380 I can get JHPs (like Gold Dots or other similarly performing ammo) that will serve to work much better than a .25.

99% of the time, it's my BHP, usually in one of my HBE rigs, but I have a couple of beater holsters if the occasion calls for them.

The other 1% of the time I'll be carrying my Springfield 1911.

I can appreciate wanting/needing a smaller gun, and some situations call for one. Back when I was a tech support puke for Gateway, I bought a NAA Mini Magnum for deep concealment. Now I have the blessed freedom of working at a gun shop, where it's not only okay to carry, it's almost expected of me (by coworkers and customers). I also like the thought of having a full-size pistol handy if I were to ever need it.

Kahr PM9 or Kimber Compact CDP is what I usually carry. PM9 most the time it seems.
