I've had a few lever guns but the only one I still have (which must, therefor, be my favorite) is my Henry H001. It helps me hunt knife-wielding squirrels.

Western Field Model 742, built by Marlin in 1967. I've harvested more deer with this gun than all my other guns put together. It's the upside down one near the top of the pic.

Winchester 9422 Magnum. I have killed everything I have shot at with it. This used to live in my truck, when I had a truck dedicated to hunting. It is a great combo with a S&W 651 in 22 magnum.

Mine is a Brazilian 1892 clone (LSI, puma, Rossi, whatever) in .454 casull. Small, handy, light, capable of putting 250gr bullets downrange at anywhere from 900-2000 fps depending on load.

But I don't hunt.

I've taken my last few deer with a Marlin 30-30. My Marlin 35 Remington is my favorite, but the deer must know when I'm carrying because I never see anything when I take it out.

Easy. The Winchester 94 in 30-30 I had handed down from my grandfather. Quite a few hogs that are no longer are round due to it.

Vintage 336 in .35 Rem, 1.5x Weaver, 200 gr. Core Lokt. It's a deer killing machine.

It depends....

Current darling is Win M94XTR (beautiful! Smooth!) in .30/30. Deer/varmint, wears a Williams 5D reciever sight. Companion to Win M94 XTR "Legacy" .45colt w/24"bbl.

But;
2 Marlin .338ME's, MX and MXLR; deer, elk, pigs.
.35Rem, M336C, deer, pigs.
8 levers, .22lr to .45/70, one for every day of the week, twice on Sunday!

My favorite lever gun changes as I own more models and upgrade the collection. Right now I am having a ball with this Golden Model 39A. The skinner peep sight was a great addition for easy accuracy.

"Winchester" 1895 in .30-40 Krag. Used for offhand gong shooting at 200 yards.

After a box or so of the 180 grain, it is obvious the curved buttplate is nobody's friend.

I have or had a Winchester 9422 until my oldest daughter confiscated it.:(

Right now I have a Model 94 that is my saddle gun, and a Savage Model 99 in .308 Win which is my go-to deer rifle.

what's your favorite leveraction and what [do] you hunt with it?

Of the five different make leverguns I own, hands down! my absolute favorite to handle and shoot is the Browning 92 in .44 mag. I will hunt anything and everything I can with it that is within the game rules of the region I happen to be in. If it's not the tool for the job, then the Winchester 94 in .30-30 is a satisfactory substitute (although ballistically superior to the .44 mag).

My son and I have Marlin 336s in 30-30 circa 1971. With Leverevolution ammo we hunt deer, hogs, and javelina. It has enough range for where we hunt.

My daughter uses my BLR in 243 with Fusion 95 gr rounds. She shot a deer last year at 90 ads and it looked like a grenade had gone off in it. The BLR also has a 1971 SN.

Like many, I suspect, I do much more small game hunting than "big" game hunting. So in terms of use, my Marlin 39 Centennial gets the nod.

But in terms of my favorite it would be my Marlin 1895 GS. By the way you can hunt jack rabbits with a 45-70. There just isn't a whole lot left.:D

Marlin 336C , my first rifle given to me from my mother , Christmas 1976 .

I've had several Win 9422's.
One Marlin 1894 in .44 mag, couple of Win 94's in .30-30.
One in .307win.

Not really a fan.

Kinda mad at myself for letting an older 99 in .308 slide by. Used, it had killer patina.
Neat old rifle.

Would have been cool to pop a deer with it.

Winchester 94 30-30. Nothing better for close range stalking. Light compact well balanced quick handling and the most effective short range deer caliber out to 200 yards.
