I shoot highpower rifle as well, an AR15 service rifle.

For me, it's all about the people. My first time out, I was a stranger that didn't let anyone at the club know I was showing up in advance, I didn't have a rifle or any gear with me, and I had guys falling over themselves to loan me thousands of bucks worth of gear to shoot. A few matches under my belt, and they're still ready and willing to help, no questions asked. And now I do the same for anyone I can kidnap and drag out to a match with me. I'd be doing those guys a disservice by not offering any less to anyone else.

I also love the long-range pistols. Our application is hunting (big game and varmints) out to intermediate and long-range, we also help teach the old Bower Long-Range Handgun Shooting Seminars in NE these days.

Couple yrs. ago we held the 1st ever SHOTS (Specialty Handgun Outdoorsman's Tactical Seminar) at which we taught LRP shooters techniques for engaging tgts. out to 1000 yds. The ITRC that Zak mentioned earlier was really the main impetus for the class. We wanted to set up a field course on a ranch out here in So. CO for the shoot, once we came up with a design for portable silhouette tgts.

I am specifically interested in optics for long-range pistol shooting and reticle rangefinding.
