The only pocket protector in a J-frame I have, or will need, is a 642. I have shot a 340, made with 'Expensivium', loaded with something unwholly from a .357M box of CorBons - and it was miserable! No grip to speak of, so it slapped the poop out of my hand... far worse than any of the .454's I shot in my old SRH.
Of course, if I want a 'better' .38 snubby, I always have my 2" 10...
