My grandpa's old Remington M722 short action in .257 Roberts that i killed my first deer with 49 years ago last season. Obvious reasons, right? It also shoots better than anything else I have in a deer caliber, 1/2 MOA. It's STILL all the hunting rifle I really "need", but don't tell my wife that. :D

The remington 514 my grandpa gave me,in one hand, and in the other my savage 116 in 270,first rifle I bought.

The one that is in my hand, after the safe has been emptied, and the brass is all spent! More than likely it would be my Glock 17 or my 1911

My only Garand (which needs a mate), a Service Grade.

If the question could be rephrased, actually it would be the heap of ammo.
Guns are always easier to find, and many milsurp types still have stable prices.

My hands will be tightly gripped around the spade gripps of my 50 cal ma deuece or my 1919 depending on the situation.:)

My AK47 with my AR15 strapped to my back and my Glock 17 on my side.

If it came to it my colt ds, shotgun, muzzle loader and 22 rifle and marlin 336.

Those rules apply to sales too. If my family needs something I would of course sacrifice guns for them. Except for those I mentioned. I need all of those for protection, hunting as trapping.

Kind of funny this thread quickly turned from 'what is the last rifle you would get rid of' to 'which one would i be carrying when they kill me.' Doesnt surprise me though.

If this means the one rifle that means the most to me, well, that might well be my .308 Browning BLR Lightning, as it the rifle with which I first really grasped the concept of rifle shooting, in 1997. I had owned rifles earlier, but lacked a real mentor, so my rifle shooting was mediocre. I have acquired other really nice rifles afterward, but this one is special.

If this means the rifle that would be found with my body, surrounded by empty shell cases, that would likely be one or both of my Mini-14 580-series Ranch Rifles. These are my favored utility rifles, which is not the same thing as a rifle I would carry off to war. A utility rifle is, quite simply, more likely to be accessible at any given point in time.

For that matter, the long gun I carry into harm's way the most is not a rifle, but a Remington 870P pumpgun, with a Vang-comp barrel. Some idiots got to face that one just last night, when we had to calm a crowd that wanted to liberate a couple of their number from our custody. Plenty of felons and other miscreants have had the opportunity to look right UP the barrel, in the past.

Other than the barrel, which shoots a tight group with 00 buck, it has a GG&G lefty fore end with rail, a Surefire X200, and a Vang-comp extended safety button. (I may try a Magpul fore end soon, to allow for optimized placement of Surefire light(s), though I do like the slimness of the GG&G fore end.)

I don't have any firearms I'm overly attached to. I'm kinda finicky and sell/trade them off often. I guess the flavor of the month right now is my M1 Carbine.
