When did this happen?

The gunshop I work at has some beautiful C&B's in stock, and they put the modern guns to shame. Nicer wood grain, better metal finish, tighter timing. Aside from a trigger being a bit sloppy on occasion, they seem to be much nicer than the modern guns.

When did that happen? I thought that modern guns usually received the special treatment, and BP's got the short end of the stick.

Anyone else really impressed by the new generation of BP guns?

I dunno.
The one thing I've noticed is Pietta Bros. has improved the quality of their guns recently, and one thing they do better now than in the past is color casehardening.
Uberti was always high quality but they haven't done anything for their color casehardening I have noticed.
