When only the military has arms...

watching the video footage of that confiscation on the news here was very disturbing. I'm amazed there isn't more discussion here about a democracy sliding into dictatorship. The military has a monoploly of force in fiji now - watch and learn other democratic countries !

The Australian foreign minister has said that the citizens of Fiji should resist passively (The Age, 7-dec-06, page 2). I was disgusted when I read that, dictatorships should be fought tooth and nail. :barf:

Passive resistence = getting shot
Fighting tooth and nail = shooting back

I wanted to go to Fiji someday aparently I may want to rethink that idea.

Military coups dont last long, someones gonna want his power and will take it soon.

Among the military's demands were...that only the armed forces should carry arms.

Wow, that is a scary thought. I wish they'd broadcast this from the hilltops so the sheeple/muggles in this country might stop and think a minute what will happen if we continue to disarm our own law-abiding citizens.
