Susan is very delighted with having taken the elk pictures, as this gang of six were enthusiastically mowing down new dandilions as fast as possible - there's a pair of legs just visible in the patch of sunlight beyond the big buck. That was one of the other four that had already moved south into the patch of aspens by the time she'd gotten the camera running!

The old Nikon may have some good 35mm shots of the other four, we'll just have to use up the rest of the roll and get it developed (we were taking pictures from different corners of the house).

I've been taking my camera down to the mailbox when I go in hopes of getting some pics of our resident bucks, but today ran into some goofy looking birds instead. Not a great pic, but they don't exactly let you walk up and touch them :D

I understand completely

I see deer, turkey, coyote, ferrel cats, and just about any other critter you want to mention.
I never seem to have a clear shot.... :banghead:

From what I see on the side of the road every week, I'm just hoping someone takes him before he gets hit by a car. I only hunt things that fly or that can be humanely taken with a .22, but I'll be content to continue shooting this fella with my camera for as long as he manages to hang around.
