When you can't buy anything cool, there is always the Remington 7615p...

Hello all,

Due to the tight gun laws where I live, this is about as exciting as I can get with rifles. I know to some it may be a little OTT, but it is great fun to shoot and with the Surefire, makes spot lighting deadly.

It is based on a 7515p with:

Surefire M69 870 foregrip
Magpul rail covers in dark earth
Magpul Miad Grip in dark earth
Magpul CTR Stock in dark earth
Tangodown foregrip
Eotech 553 in in dark earth
Mesa Tactical 870 adaptor
Surefire Millennium Universal weapons torch
Single point sling
Blackhawk bag

The only other things I have planned is a 21" long titanium rail for the top of it and a thicker profiled barrel. The mags might even get a spray in dark earth as well.

Hope you enjoy as I think it is a little different.

Ben

Well, I'll give you credit for a creative workaround. I've certainly never seen anything configured quite like it.

What you've got looks perfectly serviceable.

And, on the bright side, you can apparently still get high-capacity magazines in England. Can't do that in California.

Personally, I've never understood how a Remington 870 can be a perfectly useful tactical shotgun but the 7615 is doomed from the start. The main valid criticism of the 7615 is that it's not an AR15 (or, in the case of agencies shopping for guns, a DHS M16). Well, here is a scenario in which an M16 or AR15 is not an option, and look...the 7615 seems to work pretty well.

I'm totally with you except for the notion of this being instead of something cool.

I actually really like the 7615, and I'm lucky enough to live in a place where all the 'evil' stuff is readily available.

Flem,

My brother has a simular setup with the Rem 7515p except muzzle is threaded for a standard M16A2 flashider/brake (does help a lot at night & tames muzzle jump a bit) and has found that using this TAD Gear bandoleer and ITW/down FASTmag holders really speeds reloads up.

Nice solution for those who can't own a semi-auto.

I gotta say that's a very nice example of the Remington. Very nice.

That it's perfectly legal in that configuration where an AR or some other self loader is not just shows what we all know......

Gun laws are stupid.

Ive considered adding one to my stash in case semi-autos are done away with. I grew up on pump shotguns so a rifle in the same platform would be fine!

Hello all,

Thanks for the feedback. For those of you that aint a fan, I hope you can get something more exotic and lucky you!

I live in South Australia, where the laws like most of Australia are really tight.

30rd magazines are legal as long as you have not imported them which is illegal and;

Collapsable stocks are legal as long as the oal is longer than 750mm, and of course they are an illegal import as well. Don't ask how I got this, a friend of a friend of a fried helped out there...

I am ex army, and the magazines are left over from there, where we were given M4's at the end of my time. They are rare as hens teeth these days and you end up paying $250 or more dollars if you do find them which is a stupid amount to pay.

As I am used to the vertical grip format, it is great to shoot with, no issues at all.

Does anyone know of a source for a spring that could go into the Action Bar Assembley, to assist in the pump forward action? I have heard of a few people doing it and just need to source the spring. Any sources?

My other project at the moment is a .338 Remington 700p. Stay tuned for some pics of that.

Yes you can, but I dont think there will be enough tension in the springs. I think a heavier gauge will be needed. Also the OD of teh spring will need to be no larger that about 1/2 inch.

Hi Flem100, Nice looking very serviceable rifle you have there.....nothing 'uncool' about it! I was in Adelaide (my old home town) last month for the Muzzleloading Loading World Championships that were held at the Monarto Shooting Complex.
Despite the restrictions on certain types of firearms you can own down there now, I am always impressed by the quality of the gun stores in Adelaide, in regards to the amount of stock that they keep (firearms, reloading gear, etc.), very few of the stores in the Seattle area have anything close.

Radagast,

I have heard about teh Neg Kelly from a friend that shoots it every year, if I am in town next year, I think I am going to give it a go for sure! Looks like great fun from the web site.
