It's quite obvious that I'm not doing much for RKBA efforts by arguing on the internet and posting pro-gun blogs. I want to start sending letters and e-mails and making calls. My own state senators are the first to come to mind, but who else would there be? And where could I find the e-mail addresses, addresses, and phone numbers for these people? Thanks in advance.

You also have a Congressman - the one who was elected to the House of Representatives. State senators and representatives. Mayor & members of city council/county supervisors/commissioners. State Attorney General, local district attorney.

State and local political party officers. Letters to the editor. Letters to your local TV stations' managing editor - especially in response to any editorializing they do in news "stories". You can ask for equal time to present your views (equal time means opportunity, not x # of seconds).

Lions, Ruritans, Elks, Moose, VFW, American Legion, Scouts, etc. Drive out of town then reverse direction & stop at the sign saying "Welcome to ...." Usually there are plaques of all the civic organizations in town.

Check the phone book, or use a search engine for the main contact numbers/addresses. Make contact & ask who specifically to write to.

Ask around at the local gun shop & range to find out about local/state organizations that are active. NRA is not the only player.

Make sure you get somebody to proofread before you send anything out. Spellcheck can be your enemy, as well as not knowing anything about grammar.

Most importantly - keep plugging away at it. Even if your writings are not published, someone will know that there is at least one person out there who is concerned.

stay safe.

www.senate.gov and www.house.gov will get you to the contact info for Senators and Representatives.

And the state website should get you to contact info for your state Senators/Representatives/the AG/Governor(you have Bobby Jindal-lucky you:D), et al.

And deffinately letters to the editors when they print lop-sided stories, or misstate facts.

You also might want to check out gunowners.org. They have a system which lets you know who to send letters (editable and prewritten, if you wish) to for your specific region, they also give the option of sending the same editable prewritten message as an email.

I've said it a few times elsewhere, but they really couldn't make it any easier...
