I would like to find a decently priced version to decide if I like it compared to my more traditional knives.

Anyone have any information?

Himalayan Imports. Of course, it will be overbuilt, like almost all their products. Valiant Co* has more traditional Kerambits, but they're not cheap.

You could also get one of the Cold Steel faux knives (less than $10) to decide if you like the feel.

*(Look under "blade of Sumatra", pg 2)

thelmer- I'd try the Smith and Wesson one just to get a general idea. I would NOT recommend using it for serious use, i.e., stressing the lock at all.

Mr. Shirley- Thanks for posting that link! Awesome!!! I just started FMA and I can't stop thinking about how the stick techniques translate to nearly every bladed instrument out there. ...must...not...buy...everything...argh! :D

Glad to help. :)

I would not suggest carrying any blade shape that could be described as outrageous on a carry knife, but if one wanted a folder in this format, Spyderco makes one that could actually be useful. Ain't cheap, but quality rarely is.

If you want one that folds, definitely look at the emerson karambit...I have a bullnose karambit and cannot be happier with it.
