Where did the Silverbear 115gr JHPs go?

Back when I still had my Makarov, I stocked up on 115gr and 120gr Silverbear ammunition. I was always fond of the 115gr offering and felt LVE would settle upon it as their 9x18 flagship cartridge and manfacture enough to last the US consumer for years.

Now that I purchased a 9x18 pistol (CZ-83) to replace my stolen Makarov, I've found the specifications have changed a bit with Silverbear. Now they seem to offer only a 94gr JHP, with the 115gr loading no longer an option. Why in the world would do that? My Makarov loved the 115gr variety and the little I have run through from my "reserves", my CZ-82 appears to love as wel.
I can only figure that they failed in making the 115gr bullets magazine-friendly enough for some Makarovs and has to reduce the cartridged OAL yet again from the previous 120gr JHP.

Or perhaps it was the slightly less pleasant recoil that caused many to seek the heavier recoil spring Wolff offers.

In my opinion, Silverbears 115gr JHP were the best thing going for the Makarov. I would love to have someone explain to me just what went wrong.

In the meantime, I'll be using 94gr FMJs since I don't exactly have condifence in the lighter-weight JHPs currently out there to give both adequate expansion and penetration.

Snowdog, I can only speculate myself. If you haven't already done so, you could pose the question over at Gunboards.com in their Makarov forum.

Nice signature line, btw. The Thing is one of my favorite movies. :)

I'll post there to see what they know. I'm suspecting it was a recoil issue... what a shame.

BTW, you know someone's a fan when they can pick out an obscure line from a 25-year-old movie. It was definitely an underrated movie, among my favorites (if not my absolute favorite).
