Where do you find .312-.314 bullets?

Want to start loading for my 327 SP101 but most places only have bullets in the right size in the 71 grain variety used in a 32ACP. I do plan to cast but I'd like to start loading revolver with factory bullets to eliminate variables. So far I've found lead offerings at .314 from Acme bullets and .312 plated bullets from Rainier both at 100 grains. Heard good things about Acme but nothing about Rainier. Are there any other options out there I am missing?

I use Missouri Bullets almost exclusively for my purchased lead bullets and the various .313 diameter Hi Tec coated ones are my go to for my 32/327 revolver target loads. Natchez shooters supplies and widners have been sources of 32 cal jacketed and HP bullet as well.

Another vote for Hornady and Xtreme; any other dealer with 32 caliber bullets will work just fine.

I have used them in .32 Long, and .32 Mag, but I wonder if they can handle the .327?

Good question. It feels like the plating on them is thin compared to other plated bullets. I think Ranier recommends velocities no greater than 1200 FPS. Isn’t the velocity on a full factory 327 load around 1300 or 1400 FPS?

For my .327 Fed I either use the Hornady 100 gr XTP, which I found at Cabela's or one of two cast bullets. The NOE 118 gr WFN or the Arsenal 133 gr Keith. I did order an Arsenal 98 gr DEWC mold. It's supposed to show up today. I'll have bullets from it tomorrow.

The .327 Fed throws a 100 gr bullet at 1500 fps out of a 5.5" barrel. You don't have to load plated bullets to full velocity. I can get that 133 gr Keith to over 1400 fps. That's a lot of punch in my Single Seven.

I need to buy some .312 bullets and since I now have a 327 I am looking more for either a really heavy lead bullet or a decent JHP. So far I’m not finding much. I’m going to experiment with some powder coated .311 bullets I have and see if they will do well. It would be really nice if I could load 130gr LRN that I’m loading in 30-30 but I doubt that works well. If y’all find anything good then I would appreciate the information on what you bought and where you bought it.

Thanks guys, not interested in paying what they are asking for Hornady when I'm just learning. I did check out dang near every place you guys suggested on my phone but now that I go double check on my computer I'm finding all sort of options. Will the 32-20 bullets work? This will be my first revolver loads and I know there is flexibility with bullet profiles but not sure how much exactly.

If you can find data for the weight of the cast bullet, it doesn't matter what the bullet was intended for. You generally run into leading and accuracy issues before you run over max pressure.
Castboolits website guys can probably help you with load ideas.

I have gas check SWC from Rimrock (115), SWC from Penn (95), RNFP from Xtreme (100), and RNFP from Silver State (100). I chose to coat the Silver State with alox. My jacketed are XTPs.

Some of the bullet profiles, particularly the SWCs, require trimming cases, if using a gauge. Most do actually chamber in my Single Seven regardless. I have never had any leading at all, even running a full case of AA#9. I would speculate that the bullet is achieving a good seal in the bore. My favorite is the Xtreme. Rimrock is awesome but pricey as a gas check. All my lead measure .313.

PM sent.

For cast bullets you really want .314 bullets. Jacketed would be .312.

I disagree with that. .313 has been working perfectly, no leading. The .314 could force reaming of the throats. .312 is the standard for jacketed. These lead bullets mentioned are the same bullets used for 32-20, so perhaps .314 might apply more there. The lighter weights are more about 32 H&R, perhaps 32 SWL.
