Okay, I've been spending a lot of money on magazines and clips lately. I like 10 for each firearm. I'm not sure how to organize them. I have gobs now. I don't want to put them in my safe, really, as I'm already out of room. I was thinking of a series of bins to put them in. What say you? Pics, please.

Range mags are in clear plastic shoe box sized containers and marked by make/model. New mags are in large rubber bins in their original packaging. All guns have at least 3 mags in the same case/box with some ammo.

I use the magazine bags that I attached for all of my AR and AK mags. For everything else I use clear plastic bins from Wally World. I label them for each model and caliber gun. I use clear bins because sometimes I get lazy and don't label the bins for a few months.

As far as my stripper clips, I just rubberband'em, label'em and toss'em in a ammo can. They are a pain...

I only have a few magazines for each firearm I own. I usually just keep them with the gun in the carrying case.

recycle the Missouri Bullet boxes.

fold in the flaps and each box holds up to 10 pistol mags
the boxes take up little room against the back of my sliding draws.

good question!

I have a pretty good system for AR mags, but all the misc 10/22, pistol and other mags are a mess. i just have them dumped in a drawer at the moment.

I use large zip lock bags.

The gallon size bags can hold several smaller (eg, quart) sized bags, allowing one to organize via caliber or platform, with subdivision bags going in the bigger bags. There's usually a place to write with a Sharpy so you know what's inside specifically, in addition to being able to see and feel. The magazines stay dry, and can be placed in boxes for hard sides if desired.

The zipper is much better than the "press/squeeze" type.

Freezer bags are a bit thicker gauge, so hold up a bit better to sharp edges. But if a bag rips beyond service use, a box of new bags is not expensive.

I guess I get off easy on this one.

All my magazines fit either pistol, since they are the same manufacturer and model, MKII and MKIII. Some are kept charged, should they be needed.

All my speedloaders and strips are for the same caliber, but divided by charging of 5 round or 6 round cylinders, with one device of each type to remain charged, should it be needed.

Ammo cans with labels on top saying what's in them.

Inside the cans, I'll usually use sandwich bags to hold the magazines, usually in pairs. I'll spray Remoil into the bags and then seal them. Then use a label on the outside of the sandwich bag saying what each one is.

I buy a lot of surplus items that don't have much packaging, hence the repackaging for storage.

If the factory packaging is good, I'll use that directly and won't spray oil on them.

As far as my stripper clips, I just rubberband'em,

I've learned the hard way not to use rubber bands for anything. Not only do they dry out, become brittle, and break, but they also leave a nasty residue that's hard to clean off the object. I just use ziploc bags.

Since our draconian magazine ban was passed I have my 15+ rd magazines locked up with my firearms.

Midway has some neat magazine pouches for multiple pistol mags that fit inside their range bags. http://www.midwayusa.com/product/939160870/midwayusa-tactical-pistol-case

I usually keep 4 mags in a "go" pouch like this: http://www.midwayusa.com/product/93...ch-ar-15-and-ak-47-rifle?cm_vc=ProductFinding

A quick review: http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=659538&highlight=midway

I store my magazines by type: AR, AK, Mini, carbine, LR 25, whatever. Some are stored in cloth bandoliers so they don't rattle around and stack easier. Cheap USGI bandoliers for AR's and Carbines will hold (7) 20 rd AR mags or mini 14 mags.

I keep my Mauser stripper clips in an old USGI compass pouch. It holds a BUNCH of them. (It's a nice hunting pouch too holding 2 clips loaded) Old USGI M1 belts will hold 2 loaded stripper clips of 1903 or Kar 98 ammo in each cell.

Some in my long range bag. Some in my light shoulder bag. Some in my ammo cans with ammo and some in the piano bench.... All mixed usually. Some loaded.

Pretty much scattered here and there.

Rubber Maid tubs from Wal-Mart or Rural King.

Same here. It's also where I store the ammunition. I stick as many mags as I can in the weapon's case and throw the rest in the containers.

Some guns, like my P226, Mini 14s, 4006 and PTR 91, I went over board on and literally have magazines everywhere. I try not to buy anymore then necessary now.

Pistol mags, I keep in the safe open...I only have a couple for each, so they don't get in the way. My AR mags are a different story. 50cal cans will hold 21 PMAGs and 580 rounds. I load 28 rounds in my stored PMAGs for a total of 588 loaded rounds and 580 stored rounds...1,168 rounds per can. Enough loose rounds to essentially reload each magazine.

Heavy (around 35lbs), but manageable and in the cans, they can be stored as caches if need be. Currently they are stacked in the house, but easily transported.

This pic shows one I'm working on filling now. Only 420 spare rounds in there...
