I know we all usually try to find good quality Cast bullets and a low price but i don't remember threads about Jacketed bullets.

I bought my son a 1911 for Christmas and I want to load up some FMJ ammo for it. Can anyone post a link or 2 for LOW priced Jacketed bullets?
Thanks...

:evil:You can start here, but I probably left out a few:D

Yea Shoney. I think you missed one. :neener:

Great list.

Can anyone post a link or 2 for LOW priced Jacketed bullets?
That has gone the way of the Doe Doe bird. (spelling?)

Hey Shoney, is that the best you can do?

Good job, I needed some of those myself!! FM12

Arch, my reloading has always been for "fast" stuff... 9mm and rifle. My 1911 is on its way and I've decided to try some plated bullets in 230gr RN. If your son's new 1911 is a 45, you might want to look into plated bullets since 230gr slugs are pretty slow, slow enough that you don't have to worry about the plating coming off like on a .357 Sig, .223, etc.

Last I checked, Rainiers were $168 for 2000 with free shipping from Midway with a C&R discount.

Walkalong:
I saw a Doe Doe bird mounted:), not to be confused with a DoDo bird. It strangely looked like it had been diagonally sliced off the butt of a whitetail deer. It had deeply inset beedy eyes high on the head, above the long soft beak. The beak appeared to be furry, not feathery, and was long and flexible not hard.

Now when you lifted the tai---er---ahhh beak, you could see it's mouth parts.:what::rolleyes:

I use Powder Valley for most of my reloading components too but they seem to be a little high on Jacketed bullets because they don't carry any "off" brands.

The Zero bullets at PV seem to be a good price.

A good price until you add the shipping, assuming that the bullets are even in stock.

I'm able to buy 1000 Zero 45 ACP 230 FMJ or 185 JHP for $113.95 shipped which spanks Powder Valley.

Yea Otto, give it up. :D

Ghost Holster has good prices on Zero bullets as well.

1000 185 JHP for $117 shipped.

2000 185 JHP for #219 shipped.

Both out of stock, but they say if you order now they will hold the prices.

I gave it a try on 2000 185 Gr JHP's. What the heck. I think that price is about as good as it is going to get for some time. It is cheaper than I can buy my favorite Berry' right now and Zero makes a fine bullet.

1000 Win 45acp rn fmj 230gr $104.00 shipped.

I have purchased from these people twice and have two more orders on the way. The first two orders came as fast as a flat rate USPS box can

They called me within 6 hour of making my next online order to tell me my credit card would not go thru, I had entered the wrong exp. date.

When I googled their name, many police department purchase agreements to do bussiness with, came up.

I can highly recommed this company.

"...a Doe Doe bird..." That'd be a winged female deer. Very rare.
Jacketed bullets are too expensive to shoot regularly. A cast 230 grain RN or FP with 4.5 grains of Bullseye works well. Taper crimp only.

I just ordered 9mm 115g plated bullets from Cabella for 6.3 cents each. Shipping is by dollar value of the order, about 7%. I got 2500 bullets (200 115g 9mm and 500 150g 30-30) for $207. That averages .08 each for rifle and pistol. I can't beat that buying lead bullets.

Sunray,
I know Jacketed bullets are expensive but I want to break this .45 in with the bullets it was designed to shoot before I start feeding it Lead.
