If you are willing to drive an hour you could go to the Dublin area to the Twin Oaks Range of the Middle Ga. Gun Owners Association. If you want its free with a member to visit or 75.00 a year to join. We have a 300 yd range, pistol range and skeet range with a different competition most every week. Let me know and I could arange to meet you sometime and show you around.

Lawdhavemercy..I did'nt know there were so many THR members in and around middle Ga. Well Bowstreetrunner I wish I could tell you of a range for free but I am not aware of one. I live in Monroe county and I think there is a range in Smarr, just off I-75 but again I don't think it is for free.. You might check with the Bibb co sherrifs office and see if they could hook you up with a location or two. I lived in Macon for over 20 years and moved to Monroe county in 1994, so if you are looking for land or to buy a home check it out, also jones co ( Gray,Ga) may have some possiblities for both land and a range...good luck....

Spreading the inquiry a little wider, does anyone know of anything near Valdosta? I just moved here today (the furniture isn't even here yet) and have already got the itch to shoot again...

Teufelhunden, I vaguely remember seeing a gunstore in beautiful downtown Valdosta. The folks there oughta know.

I'm part-time in Thomasville; Thomas County has a shooting club and range. It's set up for control through the Sheriff's office.

There's a Sporting Clays deal near Boston, and an IDPA club over at Cairo.

Anybody around Fort Valley, there's a range near there. Go to TheFiringLine.com and hunt up Sensop for into.
