If you’re unlucky enough to have civilization grown up all around you, and you have a Cabelas or Academy near, your best chance for finding normal priced primers is to stop in and check regularly. Have your powder list ready too because I’ve found that recently too.

Looks like pv goes on dung list of NTBF with their primer prices. No different than gb if you ask me.

Bill
If you're referring to cadet3's post #17, he said that's for 11,000 primers.

My last two Powder Valley orders in January..... This is two orders for 11,000 primers, you can still get primers from regular online retailers. PV was nice enough to sub CCI SPP instead of the Unis Ginex that I ordered, I was completely okay with that.

If that's not a typo, he paid 4.6 cents apiece delivered. That's maybe a little over a penny more than I've paid PV for primers in the past. A pretty fair price nowadays, I'd say. I would certainly pay it.

If folks keep paying these outrageous prices then folks may find this a self fulfilling prophecy in that those prices will become ubiquitous and permanent. Put your money back in your pockets and walk away, in real life and on the www. If we want to pay a dollar per primer, keep it up.

I've been watching some GB auctions for the entertainment factor. One thing I'm seeing is more and more auctions not getting any bids. Especially the high starting bid ones. A promising sign.

Simple matter of economics Supply & Demand, being driven by the political environment. In a normal market place there would be adequate product to meet the demand. Is this the new normal? I simply don't know. I believe I have an adequate supply of components and commercial ammunition for the time being. I could be wrong.

I've been to academy, bass pro, field and stream . Looking on gun broker , power valley ext. I can't find any. I found some cci for $10 a 100 at a Gun show.

[Why is it that Pete Seger and Peter, Paul & Mary keep circling in my head? Where have all the primers gone? Long time coming.]

Other than .458 S, which is large pistol, I don't load rifles so I checked my cabinet and I do have 400 SRP. Not really enough to mess with trading.

I'll just hold out for a while longer.

I just think there more to it than just demand. Right now would be an open market for lots of profits. There are lots of company's across world that could take up the slack.

“Where’s all the primers!!!”

answer: collectively, your fellow reloader have them squirreled away in their personal inventories. This will only end when when the panic buying stops and people feel like they have enough.

I’m not making a value judgement here. It’s still a relatively free country and people will do what they want with their money. I’m just stating a basic economic fact.

I found a brick of large magnum match pistol primers tonight at my local shop. Paid normal pre lunacy price for them. Bought three pounds of Greendot there last week. Bought half a brick of shotgun primers there last month. I am hoping it is a sign of things easing up a bit.

it will!

just refuse to buy at lunacy prices and remember the shops and online that were taking advantage of the situation

Reno Cabelas has SPP today, at least for a while. I got 1,000 for $4.99 a 100. Then my wife, unprompted, said I want a 1,000 too. She got 1,000 CCIs.

Since 11/09/2020 I have made the 70 minute trip to Reno Scheels, Sportsmans and Cabelas almost weekly. For 13 trips I have 5,000 SRP, 2,000 SPP and 1,000 209s for my efforts.

Is it worth it? To me it has been.

Not sure what you mean? PV has kept their prices the same as they always have been. What they are selling primers and powder for is normal retail.

one day, primers will be all over the shelves, 39 deep, next to the Hopps #9 and Rem oil.... then everyone will shut the door about it and move on to something else to complain about
What’s all this I hear about our national racehorses! I like playing the ponies as much as anyone but is it really necessary for the government to get involved? Why can’t we just let the horses graze and run around?
