Which 1860 Army Repro?

So I have a jones for an 1860 Army. It's my first BP anything, and it will be a shooter, so I'm looking for a nice, cheap, repro of some kind.

The problem is that I know exactly jack didley about them. I'm looking at Pietta, Uberti, and CSA.

Can anyone tell me what (if anything) I should steer clear of, or what other brand(s) I should be seeking?

Pietta & Uberti are among todays best Italian manufacturers in Reproduction C&B Revolvers but others to concidder is Euro Arms & ASM.

The only Aadvice I would give in to avoid is a brass framed revolver unless you intend to keep the powder charges fairly light "say 22gr. or less" because constant heavy loads can cause the recoil shields to become battered & the frame to stretch to the point of it possibly not being useful.
 
i have a ADM 1860. man they are fun to shoot. i would still advise on getting the pietta or uberti. parts are kinda hard to find for the ASM
 
I own a Uberti, a Pietta and a Armi San Marco, which is comparable to the CVA. The Uberti is far and away the best quality with Pietta a close second. The ASM has issues with soft components. Its good enough but nowhere near the quality of the other two.
 
I bought a second-hand Uberti 1860 Army recently and am very happy with it. The fit and finish is excellent, timing crisp and flawless and it shoots wonderfully well – which is almost a bonus!

Can’t compare it with other repros I’m afraid as I haven’t owned any C&B revolvers other than Ubertis’ - I absolutely love my Army and would not
hesitate in buying another Uberti.

Bought an Uberti 1860 about four years ago. I take good care of it, screw around quickdrawing w/ the nipples out, and have put about 1300 balls down range. I have replaced a broken handspring and reattached the barrel stud (the bit that holds the loading lever in place). It's reliable, has lots of character, and never fails to put a big grin on my face.

These guns are fun to shoot, and the guys posting have some great advise.

These guns use percussion caps. Most easily found are #11's. They're too loose on my Pietta. Have to crimp them a little to stay on the nipples. But from what I hear is that they fit well on the Uberti revolver. The guys that own them can clear that up. That's the only reason I'd go with the Uberti over the Pietta. I solved my problem by finding some (New) Remington #10's. They fit perfectly.
