Hey all,
Well, I think I'm going to venture into the world of suppressors. I've decided I'd like a .22/can setup. I've heard of most of the big manufactures and have to do more research on it. However, I'm not sure as to what "platform" would be best. I have Ruger MkII's, a Browning Buckmark, and of course 1911's and a 10/22. I KNOW I want a detachable can.

Here are some options (poll coming later)

1911/Marvel conversion
Buckmark
Buckmark with Pac-lite upper
Ruger MkII
Ruger MkII with Pac-lite upper
Ruger MkIII 22/45 (I never actually thought I'd like the looks of a 22/45, but this looks much more refined than the MkII version)
Ruger MkIII 22/45 with Pac-lite upper
CZ75 kadet

Main criteria are durability, accuracy, quietness.
Thoughts?

I have a Ruger Mark II lower with a Pac-Lite upper for my Gemtech Seahunter. The Ruger is an reliable performer, the Pac-Lite upper is accurate (I also have two other Pac-Lite uppers that are not threaded for a suppressor), Gemtech's design is unique with the quick connect/disconnect, and the combination has decent weight and balance.

The disadvantage of my choice is that the Pac-Lite upper is serialized, meaning it needs to be ordered through an FFL. The Buckmark would just need a barrel, and is just as accurate. I prefer the American-made Ruger, but the Buckmark is an admirable performer.

I haven't gotten it all put together yet (it's all ordered, but it takes a while) but I got my buckmark barrel threaded and also ordered a threaded barrel for my buckmark rifle from the same company that makes the pac lites. I went with a tac inovations suppressor from the group buy that was at the end of last year.

I don't know how well it will work, but I'm pretty excited.

I love the Pack-lite upper on my 10/22, that I will order one for a Ruger Mk2.

I'll go with a stainless Ruger Mk2 w/ the funky green threaded barrel. I do know that the Gemtech Outback does fit the threads.

I'd go for a 5.56mm suppressor that you can also use on a .22LR

You would get more bang for the buck that way.

I was wondering how well that would work.

HTG makes a .22LR/.223 can that's called the universal - designed for mainly 22lr but occasional .223 -most can's are designed for specific caliber and don't do as well with other calibers or can be dangerous of going wrong way against the pressure curve (ie oh, my 9mm pistol can can be put on my .223 - blows the baffles inside out or rips can open etc as wasn't designed for higher pressure round). The other thing is .22lr can's are generally light weight construction but .223 cans are designed for higher pressure so heavy weight an larger volume - but don't always give maximum suppression due to design criteria.
