I'm giving serious thought to buying a .22 can. Thing is, out of three .22 rimfires I own not one has a threaded barrel. That leaves three options:
On the pistol side I know about the Walther P22, which doesn't cost much more than the Trail-Lite barrel for the Buckmark.
I'm especially interested in factory rifles that can accept cans. I'm pretty much looking for an excuse to buy a new, box magazine-fed .22 rifle anyway.
- Thread the barrel. For aesthetic reasons I won't do that to my Winchester 170, which was my first gun. Might make sense for other guns, like a 10/22.
- Replacement barrels with threads. This is how I'll probably go on my Browning Buckmark. I've seen and fired Trail-Lite barrels for the Buckmark and I was impressed with the accuracy and build quality. Cost is about $200.
- Buy a whole new gun. Question is, what guns have threaded barrels for a suppressor?
