I'm giving serious thought to buying a .22 can. Thing is, out of three .22 rimfires I own not one has a threaded barrel. That leaves three options:

  • Thread the barrel. For aesthetic reasons I won't do that to my Winchester 170, which was my first gun. Might make sense for other guns, like a 10/22.
  • Replacement barrels with threads. This is how I'll probably go on my Browning Buckmark. I've seen and fired Trail-Lite barrels for the Buckmark and I was impressed with the accuracy and build quality. Cost is about $200.
  • Buy a whole new gun. Question is, what guns have threaded barrels for a suppressor?

On the pistol side I know about the Walther P22, which doesn't cost much more than the Trail-Lite barrel for the Buckmark.

I'm especially interested in factory rifles that can accept cans. I'm pretty much looking for an excuse to buy a new, box magazine-fed .22 rifle anyway.

The Sig Mosquito can be had threaded.

I have a BuckMark that I'm going to replace the barrel with the Trail-Lite as soon as I get da cash together.

Mark.

I have a 10/22 carbine (tapered barrel) and ordered the combo deal from them. I got a new threaded barrel, two of their hi-cap mags (really are good) and three thread protectors for around $165.

I alread have one of their cans so I just swapped out the barrel and was good to go.

It's my understanding that the Mosquito threads on the barrel are metric (M9 X 0.75) in its bare form. There is an adaptor available to convert them to standard (½ X 28).

The CZ American with threaded barrel is ½ X 20 so will need an adaptor for the common ½ X 28 for US made suppressors.
