Which AR-15 to get?

Colt good, but seriously consider the Sig. with the gen 2 piston system.
If I had no 5.56 already, i wouldn't get one aside from maybe the Sig. I'd get a 6.5 Grendel: more power, MUCH longer range (better than 308 accuracy and range beyond 1000 yds) AND you can hunt large game with it legally, and in an ammo rush you will be able to get ammo easier, yes, that seems weird, but last rush, 5.56 was a beotch to find, while Grendel was plentiful and the exact same price as always.

Why not get a Tavor instead? Much more reliable and manuverable.
A 6.5 Grendel? Never heard of it. What is cost on it?
Is it better than M1A .308 in range and accuracy?
Already got Tavor

I just got a $950 + tax 6920. It's my fourth AR, and I'm happy with it. It's a good do-all gun, reliable, well made.

That being said, I've been extremely happy with two of the other three. The Colt LE 6900 which came first is excellent. The mix and match in the middle has gone bye-bye, and the Troy Carbine has been excellent.

The Colt LE 6920 is a superb first choice, if you have the money get it and be happy. Especially at that price.

I would highly recommend the Sig line of rifles for all of my enemies.
I hope they all ruck up with them for the coming festivities.
They suck. Do a bit of a search on this forum and you'll see why.

Hi Folks, first time poster and not even sure I'm on the right forum but ya'll seem to know of what you speak.
I just bought a Bushmaster in 5.56x45/223 and am very pleased so far. I want to get a 300 aac upper and have run into a wall on options and prices. I've found them from $250 to $400 on the reasonable side but a Bushmaster brand is around $850 to $1000.
Naturally I want to go with a more reasonable priced unit but I'm afraid of what may and may not fit correctly. I'm not a 1000 round a week guy but just because of that I don't want junk either and neither am I rich. Any thoughts would be much appreciated in advance.

There are a lot of folks here suggesting buying either a Colt 6920 or a Colt 6720. I would go with either of those and be happy.
Yes you can buy a cheaper gun and you will in the end be purchasing a rifle of less quality.
There are others out there who turn out a quality AR that is comparable in its quality like D.D., BCM and a few others, but usually not at the price point and availability of the Colt.
You might want to go do some research and do it somewhere on line where they are a bit more knowledgeable in regards to AR's. I would suggest M4Carbine.net, there is a weeks worth of reading, experience and comparison spreadsheets that will educate you in a way to make a educated purchase of an AR.
After all of that work and learning you will likely go purchase the 6920, but you will have an understanding of why it is the best AR to fit your needs.

I would suggest you save your time, money and effort and not consider building your first AR until you have a firm grasp of what is out there and an understanding of exactly who is making a quality product.
