I've narrowed it down to the following models and was curious on yall's opinion...

(Reviews put all these as the "top shelf" of bipods - so I can't decide)
(1) GG&G Standard XDS with universal rail mount adapter

7" to 9"

(2) Versa Pod Sniper Ski with 50-622 HD Picatinny Rail Adapter - Non Canting (designed for the SAW/Heavy Weapons)

5" to 7"

at the recent rifles-only brawl, a gear survey was taken. of roughly 95 competitors, 13 were using atlas bipods, the rest were using harris.

at the recent LEO-only sniper week, another survey was taken. of roughly 97 competitors, 1 was using parker hale (substantially similar to the versa pod) and the rest were using harris.

i'm not saying harris is best... it's the only bipod i own though (partially because it's a lot cheaper than the atlas)

I will say that the atlas is high quality and has some features the harris doesn't. BT is good people (same people who make the accu-shot monopod stuff, which i use on some rifles) but dang are they proud of it

note that you kinda need a 'spigot' to use the 'spigot mount'. see the front end of an accuracy international AIAW or AICS
and you need a rail to mount the other one (and the atlas)
harris mounts of a swivel stud, but you can get a QD stud-to-rail adapter

I've read a lot of reviews (and comparisons) stating the Harris has a lot of hop.

Seems the GG&G always comes out on top. Weight and wide stance seem to be a factor.

Choosing a high quality bipod is about as annoying as a set of scope rings. Too many damn choices!

I wouldn't stray too far away from the Harris, I have tried to like the atlas and they are nice but there not worth the extra money to me. 6-9" notched leg swivel Harris is my go to bipod..... O yeah and my Harris has atlas claws, that's the best is both worlds.

Of the two shown, I seem to recall the Parker Hale knock off as being very heavy when I had one... had one.

One of the earlier GGGs I had went away for being way too rattly. I don't know that it absolutely directly relates to the current offering though.

Ultimately, everything I have that's propped now (non-FAL) has a Harris. This, regardless of hopping a bit and not being able to skid them fore and aft.

I believe the Parker-Hale style bipod has significant advantages over the Harris (and yes, the Atlas too), especially in the AI incarnation of it, but also in the VP incarnation of it.
