I was in the gunshop yesterday and a gun caught my eye: it was a long .22 Browning pistol with huge wooden grips/stock/whatever. I remember it was very beefy w/ wood, w/ the Browning logo etched/deeply engraved into the grip. It was going for right at $320, IIRC. I may be wrong on a detail or two.....

I wish I could tell you more about it, but I can't find anything about it online and it's driving me crazy! Any help? It sure was an interesting piece!

And I think I may have just found a pic that looked like it, minus the scope:

What's a good price for it?

That's a Browning Buckmark Silhouette model. I'm not sure exactly what they've gone for lately as I've not seen one for a while - yes, I've been looking. Last one I did see was very nice condition with bax, papers, etc and went for just under $500 I believe. For $320, grab it.

Its a version of the buckmark. I would go with the "camper" in the Buckmark series. I just got one and its lovely using CCI Stingers.

Thanks for the help guys, it is indeed a Buckmark Silhouette.

I went this morning and ended up shooting it and buying it. Shot great, looks great, was in excellent (98%) condition. It had a few light primer strikes which I'm hoping will go away with a thorough cleaning.

Great grab! I'll find one myself someday - not in a big hurry but I'll get one just for fun.

And here she is, gotta have pics...even if they're crappy cameraphone pics!

And BlkHawk: you were right. The only two I could find for sale were around $450-500 before shipping, so I feel I didn't do too bad in the deal!
