Well my Saiga conversion is almost done and I need to figure out which bullet guide to order from Dinzag. I see there are flat and round guides...which one to I order? I have the 7.62x39 version if that makes any difference.

PS. I'll post this once the Saiga Forums are back up and running.

It depends on the shape of your trunnion. Field strip your rifle and get a good look at the spot where the feed ramp goes, then go over to Dinzag's site and compare your trunnion to the pictures he has there. He identifies them all for you.

If you look at your trunion and you look at the photos on Dinzag's website, it should be easy to figure out. Some trunions are milled flat, others aren't, you buy the guide that goes with the trunion you have.

Dinzag has a very helpful guide on his website that answers this very question.

We cannot help you w/o pictures. Dinzag's help document has pictures you can look at.

which bullet guide....

the one you make yourself.

a stub of 3/4" black iron pipe, a hack saw, a file, a drill bit, a #8 UNF tap and a #8 UNF flate head screw is the ticket.

I make my own bullet guides whether they are flat or curved. The 7.62 X 39 rifles usually use the curved bullet guide.........

The .223 Saigas I have seen use a flat bullet guide......
